My time with Joanna and the dogs was amazing! Joanna is such a kind, considerate and fun person and we had a really lovely time together. I truly made a friend here and would highly recommend :). The work I completed was mainly with the dogs; feeding, cleaning, walking and socialising. The dogs are all so friendly and a pleasure to work with, but it’s definitely best that you have experience working with dogs (particularly rescue dogs) to truly be able to get stuck into this Workaway. Other tasks included work in the garden and helping with vet visits. I stayed in the house which was comfortable and cosy, and truly felt like home after just a few days. Thanks so much Joanna, I miss you already!

Chanti was a great volunteer, willing and cheerful to take on any task, working in the rain, in the mud, whatever was needed. She showed us a different way to sow perennial peanuts 👍, shared some traditional Polish dishes for us, as well as stories from her travels and other volunteer experiences. Our only regret was she couldn’t stay longer.

We had a chance to spend 3 great weeks with Monique and Jürgen. From the very first online meeting before the visit we felt they really want us to join their pack. Once we arrived there, it continued the same way. We were warmly welcomed and had a feeling that this place is also our home. During our visit we had lot of inspiring conversations and learned quite a bunch of Austrian life. Monique and Jürgen are open minded and flexible hosts. They have a great sense of humor and we had cheerful times together. This house is full of joy and love - you will feel at home.

This was my first workaway experience, and I am so grateful for it!! From the start Hani was incredibly helpful with all acquiring questions and made sure that my arriving at the school went as smoothly as possible. As for the first time leaving my home country and travelling alone thousands of miles, I really felt welcomed, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Volunteering at school in Phayao province has given me unforgettable memories. From the beginning, the teachers and the director of the school were so nice and always ready to help. The kids in the school were really amazing. Besides school time, I have an amazing time by exploring the city itself, getting to know the culture and participating in local events. The director of the school made all this experience even better by showing around some places during weekends and providing cooking and Thai language lessons. I definitely recommend becoming part of this volunteering organisation!

Dylan and Jillian were amazing additions to our program. They are personable and skilled and easily interacted with our students. The students and teachers loved them. They also added quite a bit to the social atmosphere with other volunteers. Dylan and Jillian were eager to explore Casablanca as well as other parts of Morocco and were always ready for exploring with others. They exemplified what an excellent volunteer contributes. Thank you so much for the time you spent with us. Come back anytime. Happy travels.

I volunteered with ULA for about 1 month. I spent about 2 weeks at the farm in Dongshi and 2 weeks at the academy in Taipei. Both offered really different volunteer experiences! The Farm: The farm offered a quiet and relaxed environment with a lot of predictability and routine, which I personally really enjoyed. While I was there, each day started with breakfast, then 2.5 hours of farm work, lunch, afternoon rest, 2.5 hours of farm work, dinner, then free time. The farm managers don't speak much english, so if you are looking to improve your mandarin this is a good place for it! That being said, the farm managers don't really give detailed explanations about anything, which is not a bad thing, but just be prepared to ask a lot of questions if you are a high-context person! On your days off there is plenty to do in Dongshi or you can even go into Taichung. And you get to eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies from the farm or surrounding farms which I miss a lot! The Academy: The volunteer work at the academy was mostly helping clean and maintain the space. The working hours were very fair and allowed plenty of time to explore Taipei. I also got the opportunity to participate in some of their classes on Buddhism and Confucianism which were very interesting. Once a week Myogen and Davidson held a Q and A session with volunteers where we could ask questions about Buddhism, which I also really enjoyed. I was also very thankful to have 3 delicious vegetarian meals prepared every day! So overall I really enjoyed my time here and met so many cool and interesting people. I definitely recommend this place if you are interested in learning more about Buddhism and I hope to visit again sometime!

We stayed here for one month and had an amazing experience! The hotel itself is beautiful, and the team is friendly. We supported the surf school, but the workload was very manageable since it was the end of summer so, it never really felt like “work”. Our main responsibilities were carrying stuff, organizing sails/life jackets, helping/ taking care of children, assisting to instructors when they teach windsurf or kayak. Meals were provided three times a day, and the food was always nice. During our free time, we even got the chance to learn windsurfing, thanks to the team. If you’re into water sports or just want to spend time in a positive, relaxed environment, we can definitely recommend this place!

We had the pleasure of hosting Lucie and we are truly grateful for her time with us. She was dedicated, reliable, and always willing to contribute wherever it was needed. Her positive energy and kind attitude made her a joy to have in the community. She adapted quickly to the rhythm of the farm, showed great initiative in her tasks, and brought valuable skills that enriched our daily work. Beyond her contributions, she connected beautifully with the team and with the spirit of the place, which made her presence especially meaningful. We wholeheartedly recommend her to any future host or project. She will certainly bring commitment, responsibility, and a wonderful energy wherever she goes.

Perrine and Gaston stayed with us for 1,5weeks and were absolutely wonderful volunteers. They helped me a lot with teaching my students and supported classroom activities with enthusiasm and creativity. They were always punctual, organised, and ready to take initiative. Beyond their work, they were kind, respectful and easy to live with — they felt like part of our family. Their positive attitude and energy brought a great atmosphere to our home and school. I am truly happy to host them and would gladly welcome them back anytime. We highly recommend Perrine and Gaston to any future hosts.

I stayed at Suleiman's home in Wadi Rum village for about 10 days, and I honestly can’t thank him enough. He is such a kind person, a great soul, and incredibly knowledgeable about both rock climbing and desert life. From the very first day, he went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and to show me the magic of Wadi Rum. Together, we explored the desert, went rock climbing and scrambling, rode camels, and even spent a couple of nights deep in the desert under breathtaking starry skies — just sleeping bags and silence. These moments are now some of my core memories. A special shout-out also goes to Zidane, his friend, who helped me so much during my stay. The home-cooked meals were always delicious, and Suleiman even managed to take me to Petra for two days. For me, the highlight was the cultural exchange. Unfortunately, due to the current situation in Palestine (FREE PALESTINE ❤️), there aren’t many tourists in Jordan right now, so we only had guests for a couple of days. But that meant I was truly lucky — I got to live with real Bedouins in the desert and be part of their daily life. Thank you, Suleiman, for your warm heart and generosity. I will never forget this experience, and inshalla we will see each other again. All the best! Abu Luca

I stayed at the farm with my girlfriend for two weeks in September, and it was a wonderful experience. From the first moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and enjoyed amazing days. They are such a kind and hospitable family. We learned a lot, spent time surrounded by nature and animals, and it was a beautiful experience. The food was always delicious. The other workers at the farm were also extremely kind and friendly with us. The tasks were always interesting. They even took us orienteering and one evening we went to have dinner at another farm. Everything was simply perfect, and I would gladly do it all over again a thousand times. I will miss you all so much!

Fenja and Dorian make a great team. They worked hard at our land, took care of gardens and veggie patch, cat and dogs. They were very responsible and communication was perfect. Dorian is also a great cook and driver!

Thanks for your comment Tuba, i felt a very good energy in you and I wish your project of a donation-based guest house comes to life at some point. Tuba is a very helpfull and hard-working volunteer who takes initiative, and she is a fantastic cook. I understand your opinion on dishes, and sorry if I might have been the main cause of your distress about it. Nevertheless when you mentioned it, I apologised to you and said I would try to be better. I am not sure what you mean about us being distant, I felt you were distant after your first week here, but I respect it because it is your choice, I guess the period you came was just not the best as some situation had happend with another volunteer that put Achan off, and that is probably what ruined a little your stay, sorry that it had an impact... we are not perfect. I wish you had a better experience at ours, hope you find places that suit you better in your next adventures.. best of luck. take care of yourself thanks for your contribution to our place.. loic hey Tuba I feel your energy and motivation was very nice for us and others too, task for everyday was independent, for me it was helpfull at this time. She helped garden, animal, and cooking things etc...I could not work with her so much but she managed herself, thank you. also there was not any local event, also I stopped everything. About what you mentioned about dishes for me, it's not problem so much in my every day life, I means I didn't expect you to wash dishes for others and etc,,, of course, I also hope everybody do everthing themselves, and sometimes I try to tell people. my opinion about the dishes isn`t settled yet , but my thought that if someone cooks for everybody, and at least if "one" eats or tastes," one "can help with cleaning.(※not have to )...and sometimes friend`s kids come, I don't ask kids to clean the dishes themselves, just said to kids to say thank you to the washers, (※once again it is up to the good will of the adult not about hierarchi)...some people clean the bath room and toilet everyday (※not have to)... in the community there are so many things that you don't have to do if you are alone. It can feel annoying, and sometimes it's good to tell each other, of course. I want to make a good community for the future, thanks for having taken part in the journey, wish the best for your project of guest house, enjoy cycling, made me think about it... Achan

I stayed here for 10 days, and it was my first Workaway experience. The ambience was peaceful and farm-style, with a very nature-friendly atmosphere. The host, Shanu and Samaira was welcoming and made me feel comfortable throughout my stay. I truly enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm, natural, and refreshing experience.

Howard and Angie were fantastic hosts. They were able to provide so much information on the local area. They both have traveled extensively and it was a joy to hear their stories. The accommodations were comfortable and the meals were quality. I enjoyed working in the garden during the day and visiting with them in the evenings. I will definitely be reaching out again if I'm ever in there area again.

My 2 weeks with Lone and Per were delightful, they cared a lot about my wellbeing and offered me flexible hours of work in exchange of delicious meals and a comfy room for accomodation. They have taught me a lot from all the creative ideas they used to build their family home, as well as fun activities like fishing, mushroom hunting, climbing, or even going to a chess club together. Gardening and helping to get the house extension to progress felt great in such environment, it was a honor to be the first volunteer there and wished I could've helped more, the rain was unfortunate as we were painting walls, but mushroom picking will surely be even greater for the following weeks 😊 I'm very thankful for their warm welcoming ; their enthusiasm and dedication on so many past and future projects are inspiring. Wishing them many great experiences with other workawayers ! ✌️

Jacob and Anna are a very enthusiastic couple caring for their young son Yuri. This being their first Workaway experience they were a little unprepared for the routine of farm work and the amount of effort needed, culminating in only managing to complete 5 out of the 18 requested days. This stay, as short as it was, was a learning experience for all of us, and hopefully will help them be a better match for their next Workaway adventure.

To start, the land that this farm is situated on is so stunning. The property is quite large and mostly conservation land, only a small portion being cultivated for crop with ample hiking trails. I felt so grateful to be able to spend time truly immersed in the jungle. The work in the morning is physical but in the right company can be very fun and ultimately is fulfilling given the meals come in large part directly from the land. Malvina's vegan meals were always so thoughtful. You will be eating well! Raquel was very communicative prearrival and welcoming once I arrived. Dylan who helps direct volunteers in morning tasks, is so passionate about permaculture and was an absolute pleasure to work with and learn from. Despite any challenges, I'm overall grateful for my time on the farm and would highly recommend it!
