If you ever get the opportunity to stay with Monika and Peter, take it! They are truly kind people with whom you can have inspiring and meaningful conversations. We felt very comfortable with them, and our work was always genuinely appreciated. They were highly interested in cultural exchange and showed us a lot, making us feel welcome at all times. All in all, this was our best Workaway experience so far — we already miss Nelson!

It was our first workaway experience. Yosuke, Yuka, and Seri welcomed us into their family for three weeks, and we immediately felt at home. During this time, we helped Yosuke with his beekeeping business, learning so much about the world of bees. Yuka delighted us with her Japanese culinary specialties and more. Finally, sweet Seri had fun playing with us as if we'd known her forever. We highly recommend future workawayers to come and meet this wonderful family. I had a great time volunteering in Tanzania this past summer. Morogoro has beautiful nature and wildlife, and Aron and his family were wonderful hosts who made me feel very welcome. Aron was quite busy during my stay, so we didn’t have the chance to do very much together, but he was still supportive and kind. I didn’t spend much time exploring the town, as I was mainly focused on fundraising for an agricultural project. Through this experience, I learned a lot from the local community, who are incredibly hardworking and inspiring. You may need to adjust your lifestyle while you’re there, but that’s part of the experience. You’ll likely encounter things you’ve never experienced before,and that’s the beauty of traveling gaining new perspectives and learning from others.

Héloïse & Vincent worked with us over 5-6 weeks and we couldn't have been happier with both of them! They were respectful, mature, friendly and a pleasure to be around. They had a variety of skills and applied initiative when required (which is not easy to find!). They were always responsive and positive and it was a particular delight to hear Heloise singing to herself while working. They showed a real interest in Japan and the region and got along with everybody. I can strongly recommend them for any work you have and wish them both the very best with all their future travels and adventures. We already miss you Héloïse & Vincent! Thank you so much for all your help - we couldn't have set up for the winter season without you!! xx

Tristan & Sara, both of you are wonderful people. We truly like you, and you helped us with great willingness and dedication. The results of your work were excellent. Although we had only a short time to get to know you both, it was truly worthwhile. Seeing you happy made us happy as well. Ah. I have procrastinated this to such an extent that it has now been six months since I last bid you guys adieu. Naturally I miss you guys (incredibly) still. I miss probing Eugene about the practices of sustainable farming, and the incredible plant knowledge that he has, I miss getting up from bed and being greeted by the most incredible of views right outside of my tent, the group suppers, the braais, the bonfires, memories that I will cherish till the end of time.

I stayed at this farm in August, and it’s found a permanent place in my heart. 조 and 정선 are truly the best hosts you could ever hope for; kind, welcoming, and genuine. Thanks to them, I met unforgettable people, made great friends, and created some of the happiest memories. We worked hard during the hot summer, farming all kinds of vegetables. 조 and 정선 are also very organised and always take the time to show you how to do things, explaining both how and why. Through this, I learned about organic farming, agriculture, and living a nature-centred life, and it has changed the way I see things. This experience has been genuinely life-changing. To 조 and 정선, thank you so much. I’ll see you again in May 💚 (I’m still not friends with 거미.)

The coordinators were very open and fun, and helped me improve my Spanish a lot (Muchas gracias a todos!). I really appreciated the community aspect of the boat, as well as the enjoyable working atmosphere. I recommend this experience for anyone who's ready for a fun, exciting challenge (and maybe for some mala de la tierra every once in a while😉). For anyone going in winter, it will probably be colder than you think since you're right next to the ocean, so bring that extra layer with you and enjoy the experience! 🫶🏻

Lois stayed with us through our busy season. She was an excellent worker and addition to our team. She handled laundry, check ins, deep cleans and so much more! She was always able to stay calm in a stressful situation and provided a high quality customer service experience as well as some excellent vibes to our inn. I would highly recommend Lois to any other hosts looking to fill a spot.

I am very grateful for the Workaway experience I had at Leticia's home. I stayed there for two weeks. I had been searching for a host for months and Leticia was immediately available and easygoing; we organized everything just a week before. Leticia made me feel comfortable immediately and we talked a lot. The only help she needed was taking care of the children in the evening and late afternoon, so I had plenty of free time to visit the beautiful city of Cartagena (so full of history, life and culture!). She gave me great advice and always included me in their activities with other friends and families. Victor and Alba are very open and energetic children. Sometimes they argued with each other, but we had a great time together, chatting, dancing, singing, playing, drawing, doing homeworks. They taught me lots of fun games and many traditional Spanish Christmas songs, and we decorated together the Christmas tree. I had a special connection with Alba, that became quiet and sweet with me especially during the last days. It was a truly enriching and authentic experience sharing everyday life with a local family and practising Spanish while discoring the beautiful Cartagena. I will keep in my heart all these good memories and I hope to return soon and visit them again in the future.

I had a wonderful time during my workaway stay and I am very grateful for this experience. From the beginning, I felt warmly welcomed and truly part of the place. Even though my Spanish skills were limited, I managed well thanks to Fernando's and Santy's great patience and kindness. I have a lot of respect for them - the workload is intense, yet they always stayed positive and in a good mood, creating a great atmosphere. The tasks were fair and varied, with a good balance between work and free time. There was another Workawayer at the same time, ans I also had contact with guests staying there, but the experience still felt authentic and local. This Workaway was truly enriching and I would highly recommend it. Also, the nature there is beautiful! Thank you for the amazing time and the opportunity to be part of this project! Tuve una experiencia muy bonita durante mi estancia con Workaway y estoy muy agradecida. Desde el primer momento me sentí bienvenida y parte del lugar. Aunque mi nivel de español era limitado, pude desenvolverme bien gracias a la paciencia y amabilidad de Fernando y Santy. Tengo mucho respeto por ellos: el trabajo es intenso y aun así siempre mantuvieron una actitud positiva y buen humor. Las tareas eran justas y variadas, con un buen equilibrio entre trabajo y tiempo libre. Había otro Workawayer y también contacto con los huéspedes, pero aun así la experiencia se sintió muy auténtica y local. Fue una experiencia realmente enriquecedora que recomiendo totalmente. También la naturaleza es muy bonita! ¡Muchas gracias por todo y por la oportunidad de formar parte de este proyecto!

Following a friendly video call, Molly came to us on fairly short notice and was a lovely person to have stay. Despite the poor weather, she approached every task with great willingness, which included harvesting the remaining vegetables, gathering seaweed, and preparing the vegetable plots for the next growing season. Molly also helped to gather and to dose the sheep in preparation for the forthcoming winter and helped with all sorts of odd jobs around the place. We had engaging conversations about life and culture in the USA, Irish culture and history, and the world we live in. During her short stay, she made the most of her time in Sligo, swimming in the cool Atlantic Ocean, going for long walks along the sandy beach, hiking mountain paths, enjoying the traditional music of local musicians, the cinema and the theatre, and a few visits to traditional Irish pubs. Molly, thank you so much for everything. We wish you all the very best with your future travels and life plans. Ria and Enda

I had an amazing two-week stay with David and couldn’t have asked for a better host. He is incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming, and from the very beginning he made me feel like part of his family. The work was enjoyable and well balanced. Some of the tasks included weeding, fertilizing trees, and picking up fruit from the ground, which felt meaningful and rewarding. David is also a great cook and prepares tasty, healthy meals, especially delicious salads that I really enjoyed. Beyond the work, the experience was rich and social. I met his friends, and we went on hikes together, which were a highlight of my stay. In the evenings, listening to David play music was one of my favorite moments, and we also watched some great movies together. Overall, David was an exceptional host, and my time at his place was truly special. I would absolutely recommend staying with him to anyone looking for a warm, enjoyable, and memorable Workaway experience.

Wow, what an amazing experience. Our hosts were so friendly and made sure we saw as much of St. Lucia as possible. We were given lots of opportunities to use our skills and we felt very appreciated. Transportation, food and lodging were well planned. We felt immersed in the local culture and our hosts ensured we had opportunities to engage with their family/ friends. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

We were lucky enough to have stayed with Clara for 2 weeks. We helped with an olive harvest, and with small jobs around the house as well as looking after her dog Ella when Clara was away for the weekend. Ella will love you if you throw the ball for her, over and over and over and over again!! We really enjoyed spending time with Clara, and her two boys Theo and Rafi. They are all super easy going and have a good sense of humour. There are nice hikes to do not far from the house. Clara gave us some good recommendations. The house is about a 30 minute walk from Inca, and has really nice views of the mountains in the area. It’s really nice to be out in the nature. We’d love to come back one day!

I lived with Meghann, Ryan, and their beautiful family for seven weeks, and then spent another three weeks house-sitting. All the work I did during those ten weeks was returned to me in the form of generosity, love, and an experience that is forever etched in my heart. My experience in Yukon has been one of the most beautiful of my life, and I can honestly say that they are the reason it was so special. Everything I was able to share with this family and their surroundings far exceeded all my expectations. Most of the work involved preparing the property for winter, especially cutting and stacking firewood, along with many other tasks. We worked hard in the forest and around the property; I helped inside the house with daily chores and had the opportunity to learn through small projects related to carpentry, plumbing, and mechanics. In return, they did everything possible to ensure I could fully enjoy the surroundings, both on my own and with the family. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and truly enjoying the experience. The food was always excellent, and the accommodation was great as well (I spent some time living in the fifth wheel and some time in the guest room). Thank you!!!!

It’s hard to capture exactly how dreamy my stay with Debra was! It was exactly the kind of experience travellers on here are hoping to find - a melting pot of languages, cultures, food & local community, making for a rich exchange and memories to last a lifetime! Given that this was the first Workaway, there wasn’t a set routine but Debra was very relaxed and flexible with how we organised the days. Naturally we found a good rhythm between us to get through our ‘to-do’ list that we brainstormed over breakfast (still thinking about those hoecakes and the pear & clove jam!!). Tasks included pruning olive trees, clearing wood piles, making fires, picking & canning fruit and occasionally preparing aperitivi or dinners with friends. I always felt very supported to try new things and I appreciate how patient and encouraging Debra was whilst I practiced real-time learning of the language. Debra is truly a strong, talented and inspiring woman. She has a profound connection with nature, and the love poured into her house and surrounding grounds speaks for itself. There is no doubt plenty of work to do but when you’re in an environment as peaceful and nurturing as this it’s always rewarding. The location is magical, the panoramic view alone is easily one of the highlights. It was fascinating to discover this hidden part of Umbria and to learn about the history and insight behind the construction of the house, reshaping my understanding of stone and architecture. If you’re a foodie, have a genuine appreciation of the arts, an interest and passion for the Italian language and culture and enjoy living alongside Mother Nature, then your experience will hardly fall short of exceptional ! I cannot express my gratitude enough, I am so glad our paths crossed. I miss you all terribly and cannot wait to see you again! 🐞🩷

Oh Cecilia!!! She is a very proactive and energetic volunteer, always willing to help 😌 Cheerful, funny, and easy to have around at home or in any project. She brings a light and positive energy to daily tasks. Even when she doesn’t know how to do something yet, she never says no …..she wants to learn and genuinely help.🤩 Muito disposta, com boa energia e sempre pronta para ajudar. Recomiendo tener a Cecilia en tu proyecto :)
