We have been really happy to host Darius! He is both skilled and strong, and he has helped us with so many different projects. Among other things, he built and repaired gates, transformed a horse trailer into a feeding station, and even constructed a “sheep-stand” with a built-in feed holder – which works perfectly. On top of that, Darius is a super kind, humorous, and pleasant guy to be around. We are sure that anyone would feel very lucky to have him as a Workawayer! We did!

It was an absolute pleasure hosting this wonderful family from New Zealand! From the very first moment, we enjoyed their company immensely. After meeting at a medieval festival and spending an exciting afternoon there, we came home late at night and they set up camp with headlamps while getting to know our dog. :-) The next day, they jumped right in, and over the following days helped make firewood, double up the fence for the chickens, and care for the goats and chickens. Sarah and Matty were incredibly helpful. Their enthusiasm, motivation, and attention to detail made every task easier and more enjoyable — it truly felt like having an extra set of capable hands around the homestead. Their two children were delightful, full of energy and curiosity, and immediately bonded with all the other kids present. We basically didn’t see them all day (except for mealtimes ;-b), as they were always busy exploring or playing. We loved hearing Sarah’s and Matty’s stories from New Zealand and their travels through Spain and France, and the whole family’s easygoing, adventurous, and cheerful nature made every day a joy. Our evenings were full of laughter, games (Werewolf!), jamming, and lively conversations, and it honestly felt like we’d known them much, much longer than just those few days. We also shared some delicious meals together. Sadly, they were only able to stay for five days, but thank goodness they left an anchor, which one of us will have to pull up someday, so we can all meet again… We can absolutely recommend them to any host and would welcome them back anytime! Sarah and Matty, thank you for enriching our lives, reigniting our passion for New Zealand, and just being the awesome people that you are! See ya ;-)

I stayed one week with Brahim and his family and was met with the most gracious hospitality and some of the yummiest home cooked meals thanks to Naima. This work away is defiantly for you if you like kids, Brahim has a family of 6 kids who are happy to play with you all the time. The work is self selecting and flexible depending on your strengths and skills. There is plenty to do from website programing, to managing listings, contacting tour agencies and travel catalogues, responding to reviews, and making social media content. I focused mostly on making social media content and editing his packages on tripadvisor. I went with him on his 2 night Sahara tour and definitely recommend it to volunteers. It is optional and additional but you will receive a volunteer discount. It was absolutely worth it and I was able to film a lot of content that helped me promote his tours online. I will never forget the beautiful landscapes and kind people that I met in Ourrzazate, Zagora, and the Desert. I highly recommend this region to other travelers and I felt very safe here even as a young female solo traveler. I learned a lot about moroccan and berber (Amazigh) culture from Brahim and even picked up a couple words from the language. Shukran and tanmirt Brahim!

This was my very first Workaway experience in Canada, and wow, what an incredible journey! I feel truly privileged to have spent six weeks here at the motel on the island with such amazing people and to have had life changing experiences that will stay with me forever! Would absolutely recommend!

I spent two weeks on Emma and Marinó’s farm, it was my first workaway experience. They immediately welcomed me warmly and made their home my own. We mostly cooked and ate together, cared for the animals, went on quad bike rides, and "my highlight": Emma and I went horseback riding several times in this beautiful landscape. It was a fantastic experience for me, and I highly recommend it. Thank you for this great opportunity to get to know Iceland in your way. <3

Living with Ciara, Ray and the rest of the family was a wonderful experience. Before I even started to work for them, they provided me with a lot of helpful information. Everytime I had questions (sometimes even the same one multiple times), I always got an answer and they could help me out. The workload itself was very manageable and I never had a day (in the 2 months I stayed there), where I felt overwhelmed or completely lost. The children are wonderful to work with and I had a lot of fun spending time with them. I never felt judged or under pressure, even when I made a couple mistakes along the way. The location was PERFECT! Not only did I get connected with a lot of other au-pairs really quickly, the surrounding area has a lot of events and other spots that you need to visit. U can get everywhere by bus and even reaching the city center only takes an hour. I had a lot of freedom in what I wanted to do while I stayed here; I could even get a Friday off, for a longer weekend, so I could travel to Belfast. I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone who wants to stay in Ireland for a couple months.

I've workawayed in this farm for 2 weeks in september... and it's been a wonderful experience! I was there with my boyfriend, and we connected so well with the whole family. From the first moment, they've been extremely kind with us, and we've always felt very welcomed at their farm. They are amazing people, and they made us feel like guests, cooking delicious food and helping us with whatever we needed. We worked 4/5 hours every day, and we did various tasks, regarding either the animals or the maintenance of the garden: we collected some vegetables, fed the chickens and the dogs, helped to carry the woods and so on. We had also a lot of time to rest, and the possibility to have a lot of çay-breaks, that were really appreciated! We also helped the team of people who work there everyday: even if they didn't speak english they were very nice and always smiling at us, and we could understand them anyway through gestures. The farm is a perfect example of how people can live in an ecological way, in harmony with nature: everything is reused, and you will mostly eat fresh food coming from their beautiful garden. I would suggest this experience to anyone who wants to escape from noisy and crowded cities, and try to work in contact with nature for at least once! You can be sure that you will enjoy it. Thank you again to the whole family, I whis you all the best, and I hope that we will meet again!

My partner and I stayed with Mustafa for 2 weeks and we really enjoyed it. Our main task was to lead English conversation classes with Turkish people who wanted to improve their English. The classes were 4 days a week and every session lasted 2 hours. It was very interesting meeting different kinds of people and getting to know them. The sessions are intense but also very fun because you are having interesting conversations with amazing people. We enjoyed leading the classes and helping people improve and becoming better teachers. We stayed in Mustafa’s apartment and slept in a private room in a bunk bed and shared the bathroom with a third volunteer and Mustafa. There is also Cersei the cat who was a sweetheart. (if you don’t like cats, just don’t go to Istanbul😉) Workawayers in this position need to be very independent and make sure they have all the information they need on when and where they need to be. Mustafa is a kind man who very graciously shared all the space in his apartment and was always polite and friendly to us. However, he worked a lot, and we saw him only 1minute in the morning on his way to work. Communication will need to come from the volunteer. You might see him at work because the language sessions take place in his café where he spends most of his time, but he was almost never at home when we were there. This was comfortable for us because we could work from home on our own projects without bothering anyone or being bothered. You will be responsible for your own water, food, and transport to the café where the classes take place (30 min by metro; the station is 5 min walk from the apartment and then a 15 min walk from the metro station to the café). The classes are 4 days a week (days sometimes change) in the evening from 19.30h until 21.30h or on Sunday from 14h until 16h. Though you technically only work 2 hours a day, it takes around 3.5 hours round trip. We enjoyed the experience because it gave us the opportunity to visit Istanbul, meet many amazing people (Turkish and other volunteers) and hone our teaching skills.

Time well spent! I have spent 2 months at Sverre´s farm (August, September), and it was a really lovely experience. My main work focus was the cowhouse - cleaning of the barn, taking care of the calves, feeding of milking cows and giving medication to a sick cow. My work schedule was divided into 2 shifts - morning and evening, in between, I had a ton of free time. You´ll be expected to take on the responsibility for the work in the cowhouse and the well-being of the animals. The workload is adequate, and you should be able to do it without any issues. The farm is located in a beautiful valley. There are a lot of opportunities for hiking, cycling, or just wandering around in nature. Everybody in this family is super welcoming and very kind. You´ll have dinners in the main house, which will be filled with laughter ( I´m looking at you, Tuva). If you are interested in learning more about animal care, Sverre is the right guy! I had so many questions at the start, and he patiently explained everything to me. I am very grateful for all the opportunities to improve my animal care skills. Thank you Sverre, for letting me try everything I was interested in and for trusting me with different types of tasks. I really appreciate it. With lots of love, Tereza.

I stayed 10 days at Leyilah's place and I had a really nice time there. I had the chance to meet the wonderful Momo and had interesting conversations with her dad and Michael. Leyilah and I exchanged during my trip even before I arrived and we even met in a lovely festival that she told me about! We got along really well, and she always was easy to contact and shared great events happening in the region. I slept in the Annex and had a lovely time there. The work I had to do was not hard at all and I enjoyed doing it, I had always enough freedom to take a break or to do it on another day. The house is really well located close to the center of Skanderborg and it's peaceful lake. Sharing my cooking during dinners that we had all together was warm and happy moments that enlighted my stay. It's was a pleasure meeting them and I'm thankful for this great experience

Miho and her mom, Keico, have been a very useful and friendly couple, mainly helping us in cleaning our vineyard and transforming it in a vineyard again, because at the moment of their arrival it was a jungle in which was hard even to walk ! They helped us also in many others little chores, and contributed to the grapes' harvest. They both had already a lot of experience in staying abroad, so it was easy for them to seamlessly integrate in the context. When they work, they are very precise and independent, once explained clearly the task they proceed in total autonomy. Excellent, and warmly suggested to all hosts !

I stayed with Daniel and Reyna for a week and a half. They opened their home and hearts to me, happily sharing and teaching me about their lives and culture, inviting me to take part in their daily activities, and showing genuine interest in learning about the world I come from. Everything was done with patience, a smile and calmness. Daniel and Reyna are truly special people - they felt like family to me. I'm looking forward to see them again and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a rich, diverse, and authentic local experience in San Cristobal! Thank you so much Daniel and Reyna :)

Nino Mia and I had a very nice nine days working together on Gill's farm. We cleaned out the sheds of the geese, chickens and turkeys, harvested vegetables, and even learnt some scything. For each task we were guided and provided with the necessary equipment, which we much appreciated. Gill is kind-hearted, chatty, passionate about art and a very good cook. Be ready for plenty of interesting life stories — which can feel a little overwhelming if you prefer quiet — but always told with warmth and enthusiasm. If you’re up for charming Irish countryside and cottage and are ready to get your hands dirty, we can only recommend the experience. It might be worth noting that the farm is located quite far away from town, so it is useful if you have a car to get around. We didn’t have one but still managed to get around through hitchhiking.

My time with Franco and Marco was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel like part of the family, and that genuine warmth made all the difference. My work was mostly painting, and I found it incredibly rewarding. Franco and Marco are wonderful hosts who create a fun and relaxed atmosphere, so even a simple task felt like a shared project. They are so kind and welcoming, and their hospitality is second to none. I can't recommend them highly enough to anyone looking for an authentic and heartwarming Workaway experience. I would love to visit them again and hope to do so in the future.

I spent 2 month in this wonderful place, since the moment I got there I felt the magic energy of the house and the nature around it. There are fruit like avocado, coconut, ackee that you can pick and eat fresh from the tree, and near by there is a beautiful jungle river. The work was mostly focus on renovating the house, gardening and preparing the place for the horses. The reason I stay so long is not mainly for the beauty of the environment but for julia, she is a wonderful person, that was able to make me feel so comfortable and welcomed. When I got there I wasn't in by best shape and she was able to recharge my battery. The comunication was so smooth, i was able to manage my working hour and day off as I wanted. I hope the project keep evolving and of course I hope to came back one day, thanks for everything Julia 🙏🏽

I've had the chance of working at the hotel for 5 months, and I was happy to have it as my first official job abroad! Marina and Stefano are very generous and were great hosts! They know a lot about the history of the place and the cultivation of olives. Their cats are always around and make a really nice company too. The place is calm and peaceful, you get stunning views of the sea and the mountains every day you get to work and have the village about 10min walk where you can have a walk around (or a swim in the sea!) or buy a few things at the shops. The job was totally new to me, but i got used to it over time. Marina meticulously explained to me all the tasks to do and I've learned all of it progressively. The work was in the morning and the afternoon was free, allowing to go out and enjoy the nature around, and slowing down if need be. Personnally, it was a time I really needed in my life, and I am so grateful for that. Thank you for everything!

Haruka came in the right time, she took care of our fury friends and also remain at home the time that we needed. We are very glad of having her here with us and hopefully we will see her in the future. We wish the best on her trip and she is more than welcome to come back. Hugs to Gino!

This was my very first work exchange, and it truly was such a wonderful experience for me! I felt the warmth of a simple and happy family here, and I absolutely loved the four boys. Spending time with them every day—playing and keeping them company—brought me the purest kind of happiness. I am also very grateful to Raphaela for reaching out to me at the last moment, and for giving me the biggest room when I arrived, which provided me with plenty of private space. She also taught me so many things. The kids never minded that my English wasn’t perfect; they were always willing to chat with me. I sincerely hope I can visit you all again someday—I’m really looking forward to our next meeting!
