Hans and Catharina made my first workaway experience unforgettable. I got to stay in their lovely little cabin for two weeks. They are very relaxed people with a warm heart and put a lot of effort in making me feel at home. Life on the island is very quiet and chill. I got to work in the garden mostly and did some projects around the house. Hans and Catharina are both great cooks and always made sure to provide enough nutritious food for my very hungry stomach. Best of all is the permanent availability of the legendary Swedish fikabröd such as kanelbullar, which are handmade in their small café/bakery. I was able to discover the beautiful nature on the island during the morning dog walks and on the bike that was available to borrow. As I am writing this, I realise that I forgot to clean the bike. Sorry hans! I will have to come back some time :)

I had a really amazing time here. You really get to know the dogs (especially the ones in your section) and the work you're doing matters. Laia and Oliver are amazing volunteers and people and do an excellent job running the shelter. The work is pretty messy (obviously it's a dog shelter) and it's a lot of walking so you will get in really good shape. The kitchen is functional so it's easy to cook for yourself. It was amazing and I loved all of it.

Sandro and Eliane live on this beautiful land and can really need a bit of help. Thank you for having me, I enjoyed the work, the walks and the creative dinners 🤟🏼

J'ai déjà fais d'autres volontariats, mais celui là restera le meilleur de ma vie ! C'était riche en émotion. J'ai adoré partagé des moments avec les adultes handicapés , ainsi qu'avec les enfants ! On s'attache énormément. Merci à Martin pour son accueil et sa gentillesse. Merci à Fauxy pour ces deux semaines inoubliables. Cam et Bapt.

La estancia con Wael ha sido sin duda una experiencia muy positiva. Es una persona con gran capacidad de adaptación, con energía positiva, empatía y una gran persona. Aquí tienes un amigo y espero vuelvas pronto para seguir compartiendo momentos. Muchas gracias por todo y hasta pronto amigo..!!

I felt welcomed and comfortable from day one, thanks to the supportive team and volunteers around. This is a place where you can be yourself and your strengths are valued and included in your work. The work is a nice mix of animal care and working on different projects, like building tasks, painting, repairing and helping out at events. You can try out new things without pressure - “learning by doing”. In our free time we spend time at lakes, with the animals, baking lots of treats, in the sauna, on bike rides or in the creative barn (it’s lots of fun, when you like being creative). In the evenings Petra took us to swim in the lakes with the ponies, on wonderful rides through the forest… Animals are always treated with respect and lots of love. Petra’s passion and drive for the farm is truly inspiring :) I would be happy to come back someday !!

Julien es una persona totalmente recomendable para participar en un proyecto social.. Estuvo un mes en nuestra fundaciony fue increible. La predisposicion, empatia y solidaridad se destacan en el. Compartio y colaboro en las actividades con los maestros, alumnos y se integro al grupo de voluntarios desde el primer dia .. Estamos muy agradecidos por todo lo vivido con el... Quedan muy buenos recuerdos, no se da con todos los voluntarios... Infinitas gracias

Wow.. What an honour & pleasure to host Isabella & Gabriel who cycled in to the cosmic world. They are punctual & salways do amazing work with their skills. Their self discipline is lovely to watch. Isa thank you for the artwork on the gazebo & for putting up the lights like constellations😍. Archangel Gabriel..you & Isa should have like a food truck for all that amazing Italian cuisine that you made. Thank you for all your contributions ♥️

Ugo et Morgane sont venus nous prêter main forte durant 10 jours. Ils m'avaient bien expliqué leur durée du séjour, et leurs qualités pour les travaux. J'ai apprécié que vous soyez flexible et disponible à tous types de travaux. Nous avons passés de bon moments en temps libre également.

Vera and Carla did what was asked of them but with little enthusiasm. They are probably unaware that as a culture Germans eat three times more than any other culture so it is hard to keep up with their appetite demands. Communication is difficult when l ask a question and only ever get a yes or no answer as opposed to a conversation. #redacted#

Se adapto rapidamente y compartio con el grupo de voluntarios y ayudo en los talleres con los alumnos.. Sin duda es una persona recomendable para participar en este tipo de proyectos... Una pareja increible. Pasaron dos semanas en nuestra fundacion y realmente se conectaron con la comunidad y grupo de voluntarios desde que llegaron. Compartieron actividades con los adultos y los niños en los talleres y fue muy productivo. La predisposicion y solidaridad se destacan en ellos. Estamos muy agradecidos por este tiempo con nosotros....GRACIAS

What an experience. Esteban is currently in the early stages of bringing an old commune back to life. The potential of this place is endless: the beauty of the surrounding nature, the charm of the little houses, the magic of the region, and the vision of the man behind this project… As some of the first volunteers of this new chapter of the finca, we felt that we could truly make a difference. Esteban gave us the freedom to turn ideas into reality, and the results were immediately visible. Arne had every opportunity to put his practical skills to good use and, among other things, created a cozy lounge area with benches made from pallets, while Riet brought the overgrown vegetable garden beds back to life. Esteban’s support and gratitude filled us with positive energy. And also outside working hours, we had the time of our lives. Our fellow volunteers, Gaëlle and Felix, were absolute gems, and Esteban’s stories are simply mind-blowing. On top of that, he shows genuine interest in his volunteers and communicates in an open, clear, and honest way. This experience nourished us in so many ways. We will undoubtedly be back. I (Blake) had a wonderful workaway experience with Monique for 8 nights. Monique was very welcoming from the beginning and she was kind enough to let me stay during a busy period whilst her family were visiting (whom were also lovely and welcoming). The work itself was clearly communicated, fun, creative and I never felt overworked. The Ardèche region is stunning and there was plenty of beautiful places for me to visit, with some longer walks or by the bus system. The local river is an epic spot for a swim and the shady terrace is also a lovely way to spend a relaxed afternoon, often accompanied by Hozzi the cat. Monique is a fantastic cook and I felt very spoilt with delicious and healthy foods. Very much enjoyed my time with Monique and wish her (and Hozzi) all the best. Strongly Recommend. Cheers, Blake

Heide and her great sons stayd aprox. 2 month with us. We had a great time together. This nice family connected easily to everyone on the farm. Heide did her jobs accurately and with ambition and her sons supported her. Heide works as well autonomously as well as in teams. We shared some nice leisure time activities together. We are already waiting to welcome this nice family again.

My six week stay at the sanctuary was definitely one of the best volunteers I have done so far, and is definitely a big highlight of my travels. The work was easy and shared well between the volunteers, with days off every few days. As I had the honor of taking over a baby (and later a second one) and becoming a mum I had a little more work than others but I loved every second of it. The connection everyone builds with the kangaroos still living inside and outside the house so quickly is truly amazing and beautiful and something you can't get anywhere else. The group dinners we had every night were definitely a highlight too and the vegan food was just amazing! Whenever we needed anything for cooking (or honestly anything at all) Manfred made sure we got it. The accommodation is really nice and cosy too. The other volunteers where also all amazing and even though there is always someone coming or leaving, the family-like atmosphere that made me feel at home immediately was always there. The only bad thing I could come up with was that I had a flight booked and had to go, as I had to leave all the Roos (and of course the worst, my babys) and all the lovely people I met during my stay behind. It was such an amazing experience and I enjoyed every second of it (except the leaving part). Thank you Manfred, all the love to you and the kangaroos!

We had a lovely time with Laura. What a pleasure it was to host her! She was very helpful, easy going, and felt like a family member after a while. We would host her anytime again.

A lovely Moroccan-American family, the experience is for someone to join them as a key member of their household. They have many projects, especially involving dog training, cleaning, and helping organize spaces for the animals. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience Moroccan family traditions firsthand, develop your social and communication skills, and become part of a warm and welcoming environment. The home is located near a beautiful lagoon, and the local community is incredibly friendly and welcoming
