Thank you Raphi & Nick for those two wonderful weeks!! Yamba and surroundings is beautiful. My personal highlight was definitely Raphi’s world-class AUSTRIAN cooking - felt like home :) The guest room was nice and spacious. My work was mostly helping in the garden and around the house - with a very flexible schedule!! The boys and Marlee are fun to hang out with - there is never a dull moment haha!! Also, Raphi took me to farmer’s markets and the Ashby solstice party - which I really enjoyed!! Thank you and hopefully we’ll see each other again - maybe in Vienna!!

Lucie and Zoe were truly special volunteers, and hosting them was a wonderful experience. They brought so much kindness, positivity, and warmth to our hostel that they quickly became part of our family. They were responsible, hardworking, and always willing to help, but what made them stand out most was the genuine energy they brought every day. They connected naturally with guests, contributed to a great atmosphere, and left a positive impact on everyone around them. We are incredibly grateful for the time we shared with them and will always remember them fondly. They will always be welcome here, and we wholeheartedly recommend them to any future host. We wish them nothing but happiness and amazing adventures ahead. ❤️

Iris is a quiet girl. She is polite and tidy and was very self contained. We had another french girl with us and they became very close quickly which in some ways was a barrier to getting to know her more fully as she was somewhat shy to settle. Her work was good. She tried to make the best job she could. She was good at asking for direction when needed. In all Iris was a lovely girl. We were sad to see her leave us earlier than expected. Thanks for the help Iris and good luck on your travels.

Karina was a wonderful volunteer and a truly positive presence at this hostel. She was kind, responsible, and always willing to help wherever needed. Her friendly personality made it easy for guests and team members to feel comfortable around her. Throughout her stay, she showed commitment, a great attitude, and genuine care for the hostel community. We really enjoyed having her with us and appreciated everything she contributed during her time here. We are grateful for the opportunity to host Karina and would happily recommend her to any future host. We wish her all the best in her future travels and adventures.

Argelia was an absolute pleasure to host at our hostel. She brought kindness, warmth, and positive energy to our team from day one. Lucile stayed with me for one week in May. She was great company - very kind with a great sense of fun. She is very knowledgeable about plants, experienced with garden work, and has great initiative. I am very thankful for all the work she did here. She's a great cook too! I would love to welcome Lucile back here anytime. She's a gem.

We had a great Workaway experience! First, let’s talk about the facilities. We had our own bedroom in a quiet part of the house, and we shared the bathroom only with the cats when they ate🤣! Second,the finca is so beautiful, and we enjoyed the view in the morning and after work. The three of them have been so welcoming that when we left, we felt like leaving good friends! Claudia is a great cook, with very varied dishes and so very good! Now, the work. Stefan had some projects in mind and would help us and discuss them in the morning and would let us work on them , coming regularly to see if we needed anything or clarification. We were very happy with the projects we had: building shelves for mushrooms , packing / preparation of mushrooms for growth/re-roofing the chicken coop , and a bit of weeding. We were very lucky to get to know the family and will cherish this experience with them for a long time!

Que les puedo decir de Lea y Emma, son encantadoras, siempre trabajaron con entusiasmo, responsabilidad y una excelente actitud. Además, son personas muy divertidas, amables y respetuosas, lo que hizo que la convivencia fuera muy agradable. Estamos muy agradecidos por todo lo que aportaron y las recomendamos totalmente a cualquier anfitrión. ¡Esperamos volver a verlas algún día! 😊 Muy buen viaje.

This was so far one of my most favorite spots to volunteer! Wilson is so kind and made sure I and other volunteers feel comfortable and like home. The job is not complicated- reception tasks and keeping the area around the hostel clean. Wilson also went above and beyond by booking me on a tour to see la Fortuna. If was such a beautiful tour and time here. Love la Fortuna itself, so many things to do and explore! Recommend this workaway 🫶✨️

I volunteered here for three weeks, and it was an amazing experience from beginning to end. The hostel is beautiful, clean, well-organized, and located in a perfect spot to explore La Fortuna and all the incredible nature surrounding it. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, making it easy to feel at home and connect with both guests and other volunteers. A special thank you goes to Wilson, the manager, who is truly one of the best hosts I have met during my travels. He is kind, patient, supportive, and always available whenever you need help or have questions. He does a great job creating a positive environment where everyone feels welcome and appreciated. My role was as a receptionist, and the tasks were very simple and straightforward. The work was well organized, and there was always plenty of free time to explore the area. One of the biggest perks was having access to free tours and activities, which made the whole experience even more memorable. I met so many wonderful people from all over the world, and the volunteer team was fantastic. We shared great moments together, both at the hostel and during our adventures around La Fortuna. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a volunteer experience with a great balance between work, social life, and exploration. Thank you, Wilson and the entire team, for making my stay so special!

We stayed for about 10 days and had such a wonderful experience. The kids are incredibly sweet, friendly, and always so helpful. We had so much fun together, especially swimming in the Nile! One of our favorite memories was organizing a treasure hunt for the kids. Seeing their excitement, joy, and gratitude for the little things was truly unforgettable. And Mama Flo is simply amazing – one of the most loving and dedicated moms we have ever met. The way she shares everything with the children and always makes sure everyone is happy and well-fed is so inspiring. She also took such great care of us as Workawayers and made us feel completely at home. This is a truly special project, and supporting it is absolutely the right decision. We are very grateful for the time we spent here and will carry these memories with us for a long time. Lots of Love Silke & Philipp

Bea was a wonderful volunteer at our center. She is a kind, friendly, person who quickly became part of our educational community. During her stay, she taught English alongside our local teachers and contributed positively to the learning environment. She was always cooperative, and eager to help students improve their language skills. We truly appreciated her dedication and positive attitude. Thank you, Bee, for your valuable contribution, and we wish you all the best in your future adventures.

Luis was a tremendous help around our home. He worked hard and was respectful. He did his best with every job we asked of him—everything from digging up rocks and cleaning trash to providing technical assistance. He always approached his tasks with a smile on his face. Even my five-year-old enjoyed his company, and Luis always made time to answer and discuss everything my child asked him. Luis is a true treasure and is always welcome back in our home anytime he is in the area.

I Had a wonderful time volunteering here! Cecile and Michel were so friendly and welcoming, the food was absolutely amazing, and the accommodation was excellent . Their 10 beautiful horses made every day a joy, and the work never felt too hard. Highly recommend this farm to anyone looking for a rewarding and relaxing stay. Thank you for everything!

Bonnie and Walt could not have treated me better. They were constantly kind, diligent, and communicative. They run a tight ship, but if you take care of your duties and attempt to learn some new skills, you will be welcomed like family. I look forward to coming back here!

Descubrimos un lugar tranquilo y hermoso, donde comimos delicioso, descansamos muy bien y nos sentimos acogidas con muchísimo cariño. Hicieron que esta experiencia fuera realmente especial. Nuestro único pequeño arrepentimiento es no haber tenido la oportunidad de probar la cocina de la Mamá, pero esperamos que sea para la próxima. Entre los caballos, la jardinería, la pintura, las caminatas, las cabalgatas y las partidas de Monopoly, vivimos una semana llena de momentos inolvidables.
