  I’m Felipe. I’m 29 years old, father of Zoe, of three, and we live in an ecovillage in a city with a lot of waterfalls in the south of Minas Gerais state. Worked with many things, but lately I focused in natural building with the project .
  
  Born and raised in São Paulo city, graduated in journalism, worked some time in the area and then some more time as a portuguese teacher. Left everything in 2014 to travel South America by bike, and wandered 18 brazilian states, beyond Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Bolivia. Halfway through the trip, found a cycling circus group (project Balanceando) and joined them as a clown-juggler. The trip ended in 2016, but we’re still together as a family living and building this common project called Vila Curumim.
  
  I’m an easy-going guy, that likes to sleep and wake up early, help out my friends, be in nature and work with my hands. I believe in unconditional love and the wisdom of Mother Earth, and try to live accordingly. I like books and well-spoken words, the sound of silence, strong coffee with no sugar, and have a weakness for sweets.

  Me chamo Felipe. Tenho 29 anos, pai de Zoé, de três, e vivo em uma ecovila em uma cidade com muitas cachoeiras no sul de Minas Gerais. Já trabalhei com muitas coisas, mas ultimamente tenho me dedicado principalmente à bioconstrução, com o projeto
  
  Nasci e cresci na cidade de São Paulo, me formei em jornalismo, trabalhei um tempo na área, e depois mais tempo como professor de redação. Larguei tudo em 2014 para viajar América do Sul de bicicleta, e percorri nesses anos 18 estados brasileiros, além de Argentina, Paraguai, Chile e Bolívia. No meio do caminho, encontrei uma trupe ciclo-itinerante de circo (projeto Balanceando) e me juntei a eles como palhaço-ciclista-malabarista. A viagem terminou em 2016, mas ainda estamos juntos morando e construindo este projeto em comum chamado Vila Curumim.
  
  Eu sou um cara tranquilo, que gosta de acordar e dormir cedo, ajudar os amigos, estar na natureza e trabalhar com as mãos. Acredito no amor incondicional e na sabedoria da Mãe Terra, e tento viver de acordo. Gosto de livros e palavras bem ditas, o som do silêncio, de café forte sem açúcar, e tenho um fraco por doces.
  
  ABOUT THE VILA CURUMIM / SOBRE A VILA CURUMIM
  
  We have a land of 9 hectares, shared between 5 families, three of which currently live here: me and my daughter Zoe, Malu and her baby Gael, and Thuan, Maya, and their newborn Amaru. We’re 3 km far from town by dirt road, we have piped water but still don’t have electricity (but we have solar LED lamps and solar chargers for our cell phones)
  
  We have two finished houses, one of conventional masonry and another of adobe bricks and living roof; and other three of biobuilding techniques (mainly cob, daub and wattle and natural plasters) that need some effort.
  
  Apart from the houses, we have some well structured spaces for camping to receive travellers and guests, with tarp roof and walls, gas oven, composting toilets and running water. Its rustic and simple, but cosy for those who feel good in the outdoor.

  Temos um espaço de 9 hectares, compartilhado em 5 famílias, das quais três vivem atualmente no terreno: eu e minha filha Zoé, Malu e seu bebê Gael, e Thuan, Maya e seu bebê Amaru. Estamos a 3 km da cidade por estrada de terra, temos água encanada mas ainda não temos eletricidade (mas temos lâmpadas e carregadores solares para iluminação e carregar os celulares).
  
  Temos duas casas terminadas, uma de alvenaria convencional e outra de tijolos de adobe e teto verde; e outras três de bioconstrução que precisam de energia: a casa de terra de Thuan e Maya (paredes de cob, fundação de pedra seca, piso de terra, acabamento em rebocos naturais de terra e cal, telhado convencional de cerâmica) , a minha (paredes de cob, adobe e bambu a pique e estrutura de madeira de demolição, fundação de pedra, piso de cimento queimado e terra, acabamento em rebocos naturais de terra e cal, telhado convencional de cerâmica) e a cabana de malu (paredes de bambu a pique e pallets reciclados, piso de pedra e telhado de telhas de fibra vegetal).
  
  Além dessas casas, temos alguns espaços bem estruturados para camping para receber viajantes, com teto e paredes de lona, fogão à gás, banheiros secos e água corrente. É rústico e simples, mas confortável para os que se sentem bem em um ambiente outdoor.

  We can teach a lot of what we’ve been doing in the last few years, and a lot more that we could discover and learn together.
  
  We can teach how to build a house with natural and sustainable techniques from foundation to finishing touches, and also a bit of conventional building.
  We can teach a little about composting, gardening, natural medicine, agroecology, permaculture and share our experience of an autonomous and communitarian lifestyle.
  We can open a map and give a lot of tips of destinations and travel routes in Brazil and South America.
  
  And I sure know that you have a lot of things to teach also. Let’s talk.

  Podemos ensinar muita coisa do que temos feito nos últimos anos, e muitas coisas mais podemos descobrir juntos.
  
  Podemos te ensinar a construir uma casa com técnicas naturais e sustentáveis desde a fundação até o acabamento final; e também um pouco de construção convencional.
  Podemos ensinar um pouco sobre compostagem, horticultura, agroecologia e compartilhar nossa experiência de vida autônoma e em comunidade;

  Arbeit

  I need help mainly for building our homes. Natural building is a healthy, fun and inclusive work, where anyone can be a lot of help even without experience or a lot of brute strength. The exact task depend where we are in the building schedule, but it normally involves mixing the earth with our feet and a tarp, collecting materials with shovel and wheelbarrel, plastering and sculpting with ou hands or simple tools, and some bamboo and wood work for built-in furniture.
  
  Aside our earthen homes, we always have side projects in progress: planting trees, handling the gardens, creating and improving new spaces, besides the basic maintenance of the land.
  
  Also, any kind of help babysiting my 3 years old daugther is more than welcome!

  Precisamos de ajuda principalmente com as obras em andamento. Bioconstrução é um trabalho saudável, divertido e inclusivo, onde qualquer um pode ajudar muito, mesmo sem experiência, basta ser motivado e ter vontade de aprender. A tarefa depende do momento da obra, mas normalmente envolve pisar o barro, buscar material com um carrinho de mão, rebocar e esculpir as paredes com as mãos e trabalhar bambu e madeira de vez em quando para a mobília embutida.
  
  Além das casas de terra, sempre temos projetos paralelos em andamento: plantio de árvores, manejo de hortas, criação e melhoramento de novos espaços, além da manutenção básica do lugar.
  
  E também, toda ajuda para cuidar e brincar com minha filha de três anos é mais que bem-vinda!

  Unterkunft

  We have a few bamboo & tarp sheds that have some structure so visitors can have their privacy and independence, but have in mind that it's rustic. Inside the shed you have a sink, a gas oven, space for a tent and storage, and a composting toilet nearby.
  
  Have in mind that we don't have electricity, so be sure to bring some lanterns and plan your showers for day time (remember that we have the river nearby, and you can always heat some water). We have solar chargers for smartphones and other devices.
  
  For food: we can provide the basics, like rice, beans, pasta, oil, white flour, oat, etc. Fruits, vegetables and other stuff is for your account. We usually cook and eat lunch together, and many dinners also, but it's always something informal and decided in the moment.

  Nós temos alguns "ranchos" de bambu e lona com alguma estrutura para garantir privacidade e independência aos visitantes, mas são rústicos. Dentro do barracão tem uma pia, um fogão a gás, espaço para armazenamento e montar barraca, e um banheiro seco perto.
  
  Não temos energia elétrica, então lembre-se de trazer lanternas e velas, e planeje seus banhos para as horas quentes do dia (o rio é pertinho e também dá para esquentar água no fogão). Temos carregadores solares que podemos emprestar para celulares e eletrônicos similares.
  
  Comida: a gente pode oferecer o básico, como arroz, feijão, macarrão, óleo, sal, farinha, aveia, etc. Frutas, vegetais e outras coisas são por sua conta. Normalmente nós preparamos e comemos o almoço juntos, e alguns jantares também, mas sempre é algo informal e decidido no momento.

  Estamos a 3 km da cidade. Carona não é difícil e a distância é bastante caminhável, mas é bom planejar suas missões na cidade para não precisar ir lá todo dia.
  
  Existem dezenas de cachoeiras incríveis pela região, mas a maioria fica um pouco longe. Não é difícil pegar carona ou caminhar para as mais próximas, mas tenha em mente que quase sempre são rolês de dia inteiro.
