  Join us in rural Granada, the heart of Andalucia! ☀️
  Experience the beauty of the Granada coastline, (Granada City is also less than an hour away) while contributing to our sustainable, organic fruit orchard. We're a retired British couple seeking a helping hand to prune our various fruit trees, maintain & plan the future of our orchard. This orchard is not for profit, but for personal purposes.
  
  **Who are we?**
  We are Colin and Dawn a retired English couple.
  After leaving the UK 11 years ago we travelled around Central America, Asia & throughout Europe before settling in this beautiful part of Spain. Our semi off-grid farmhouse has been completely renovated offering a clean modern home. Our orchard consists of nearly 100 Chirimoya trees (custard apples) as well as avocado, mango, guava, passion fruit, citrus, bananas etc.
  We are both physically fit, but we require some extra help for the mammoth job that is pruning time.We are also looking to reduce the number of fruit trees to provide more space for growing our own food. Looking for a week's trial in January (possible extension, if both parties agree). Work will involve extensive pruning and transferring cuttings to a bonfire area. There are always other jobs to do such as weed clearing, maintenance & general keeping the orchard clean and tidy. In addition, please let us know if you have any additional skills you can offer. We ensure the orchard is maintained organically and other sustainable practices. Non-smokers only. Veggie/Vegan preferred but see food notes...

  **Important details:**
  We are situated between two towns off the main road, but based rurally. If you wish to explore the region you will need your own transport, or travel by bus.
  Although we have WiFi, we do not have access to TV, so you will need to be someone who can amuse yourselves during evenings etc (we are a quiet couple, who enjoy company, but equally enjoy our own space/privacy).

  * Help with the seasonal pruning of our 100 subtropical fruit trees
  * General orchard maintenance, including weeding and clearing

  **What we offer**
  * A comfortable double/twin room with en-suite bathroom in a modern, recently renovated farmhouse
  * Sole access to our charming casita with WiFi, lounge, kitchenette, and fridge/freezer
  * One cooked plant-based meal per day prepared by a passionate cook using home-grown organic vegetables, help yourself breakfast and snacks (extra packed lunches by arrangement)
  * You can also use the outside BBQ area should you wish
  * A rural setting with stunning views of the Sierra Nevada mountains
  * Non-Smokers only
  
  We will provide one hot cooked main meal per day during your stay, which will be either vegetarian or 100% plant-based (this is how we eat). Your accommodation includes a small personal kitchenette (with oven & microwave) and fridge-freezer, plus there is an outside BBQ area should you wish to supplement the meals provided (meat eaters). In addition there will be continental breakfast ingredients available, tea/ coffee, bread, cereals, milk etc plus other ingredients for you to make snacks and sandwiches. Special request packed lunches etc. can be arranged, just let us know. We have a sub-tropical fruit orchard, so you are welcome to help yourself to fruit and vegetables. Any questions please ask.

  This is a non-smoking household
  Granada City with the famous World Heritage Site - La Alhambra y Generalife is only 1 hour away. Nearby towns include Salobreña and Motril with Almuñécar slightly further. The popular coastal resort of Nerja is also a bus ride away.
  Please note: we are looking for helpers during the two coldest months of the year. Although the days can be beautiful at 17'-20'c the nights can be as cold as 9'c (Spain isn't always warm and sunny ;) ) The accommodation has an air-conditioning unit which can be used as a heater and also plug in heater for cooler times.

  We have recently installed a new modem and have Starlink connection. Wifi is therefore good in all areas of the house, the patio/pool area as well as the annex accommodation areas.
