I spent a month with Philip, Rachel and Molly and I had an amazing time!
Philip and Rachel are great people and easy to talk to. I was warmly welcomed into their house and was always provided with food. Molly is a lovely girl. She´s bright, very creative and invites you to play immediately. I had a fun time with her. I was lucky to be part of
… read more welcoming Teddy the puppy into the family. He is a lovely dog that loves to cuddle and play. You´ll enjoy walks with him in the park nearby.
Household tasks are simple. Basic cleaning and looking after Molly. I had a lot of free time to go exercise in the park or explore beautiful County Meath. Philip and Rachel live outside a bit, but they are happy to pick you up from Kells whenever they can.
I was travelling a lot with another Workawayer from a family Philip and Rachel are friends with. Together we went to explore the country - especially the east coast. I was really lucky to be acquainted to her.
Overall I´m really happy I met such amazing people and had the opportunity to experience what their life is like. I can´t wait to see them again one day.

It was a joy to have Marcella stay with us for a month. She helped us out around the house by cleaning, ironing, doing the dishes, making the beds and even made us yummy lasagna for dinner. Marcella had great initiative and was often off exploring parts of Ireland. We always enjoyed hearing about her adventures.
We loved learning about Marcella's studies, her life in Italy and just getting to know her.
It was a pleasure to have Marcella with us for a month. We absolutely recommend having her as a work away.

I spent a month with this family in Kells, and it was an amazing experience! It was my first time participating in Workaway, so I was a bit apprehensive at first. However, this family turned out to be perfect for a first-time experience. The tasks were simple, and I had the flexibility to manage my time; for example, I usually did household chores
… read more in the morning, leaving my afternoons free. Rachel and Philip are incredibly kind, funny, and easy going people. They were genuinely interested in ensuring I enjoyed my time with them and were always available to give me rides when I went exploring. They also introduced me to another Workawayer, with whom I explored many places over the weekends, including Belfast, the Wicklow Mountains, Bray, and Greystones. Molly is fantastic too – she's intelligent, humorous, and enjoys crafting and playing. I had a wonderful time with her, and I'll miss her. This experience was also beneficial for improving my English. While I'm not fluent, they were always willing to help rephrase things when needed, and my understanding of English has certainly improved. If you want to practise your English and discover the life of an Irish family while visiting Ireland this is the best place to go.
They encouraged me to see as much as possible and took me to visit Northern Ireland and it was amazing!

Rachel and Phillip are really great hosts that I hope to see again one day, and if I travel in the future I won't hesitate to return to see them.
My English wasn't great but they took the time to explain things to me and rephrase whenever I didn't understand.
During the week I was able to walk around in the mornings and visit lots of things, there are lots of incredible places to see around Kells (Newgrange, Trim, Slane, Hill of Tara, Dublin...) where Rachel and Phillip advised me to go.
The afternoon chores are simple (cleaning, vacuuming, ironing...) and some afternoons consist of staying with Molly. She has a great imagination and isn't afraid to talk to others, so she'll invite you to play with her and will probably show you her magic potions.
Weekends are free and you can visit Ireland or Rachel and Phillips have offered me the chance to accompany them on their various weekend outings !
I'm really pleased to have met this wonderful family.
Their friends in Kells also host workaways, so you might find someone to visit Ireland with, as I did.
