  My partner Sebastian, my daughter Isabel and me live in a small old house with a huge garden at the edge of Bad Griesbach in Southeast Bavaria, which is a village-like little town nearby Passau (30 min. drive). We live with our 3 big dogs (one is still a puppy) and 5 cats. Sometimes there's even more life in our house and garden, thats when my daughters come by with their little sons. So it can be really quiet here in the house, but also very lively. Our house is located between a residential area and a great pasture and a big forest.
  Sebastian works full-time as a biological vegetable farmer, I work part-time in an office and do some gardening for people and my daughter studies English and Spanish (beginner).

  You can learn biological gardening, dog and cat care and behaviour, biological diversity in south east Germany, German, Bavarian ;)), German and Bavarian cooking,  vegan and vegetarian cooking. Sebastian is a huntsman and has a good knowledge about wildlife in our corner of the world. I know quite a bit about wild plants for healing and consumption. In general we are very interested in a sustainable and autonomous lifestyle. So we also know little bit about it as well. There are a quite a few museums nearby where you can learn about rural life in this area during the centuries and also the Roman museum in Passau, where many artefacts and items are exposed from the time when the Romans and the Celts have lived here at the Danube.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for help with our huge garden (1500 square metres), which we step by step want to turn into a habitat for a wide biological variety including our family as well as using it for growing our own biological vegetable and fruit. Also we are planning to realize some permaculture projects like for example a hot bed. More projects are renovation projects around the house, mainly painting, and a total makeover of our old caravan. As my partner and I are not too talented when it comes to building with wood or repairing things around the house (e.g. renew rainpipes) and we are both working (Sebastian works full-time and I work part-time) we would really appreciate some help and wouldn't mind someone who has got crafting skills and some experience with biological gardening.
  As we have animals it would be best if you weren't allergic. Also our garden and forest nearby and big pasture just beside our premises are not suited for people with allergies, as there is always something spreading some pollen. You are still welcome of course, but it would really be a pity if you suffered all the time of your stay here. We are not explicitly vegetarians or vegans, but we eat very little meat. So dishes will be mainly vegetarian/vegan. And if you are vegan, it's fine by me to just cook vegan meals for the time you stay with us.
  Normally I do the cooking, but if you feel like it, it'd be fabulous if you did some cooking as well.

  Unterkunft

  Our house is quite old, we did already quite a bit of work to it, but there's still some renovation projects to be done. We have got 5 rooms and a kitchen, two toilets with sinks and one bathroom with a tub and a shower in the basement, which is clean and useable with warm water from the boiler, but needs to be renovated also. We have running water, electricity,, wireless Lan and wooden stoves for warmth, which are usually not needed during the summer. You can stay in a nice room with wooden floors and a beautiful view from your bed (low bed) into the tree tops. From the balcony you have a nice view into the garden.

  Was noch ...

  Passau is a really lovely town, especially the old part, with lots of small cafes and restaurants as well as extraordinary shops and you can book one of the guided tours or go an a boat on the Danube. There's a bus going to Passau from our town and back and you find many wonderful places you can go to, or we can take you to, if you like. There's also a train going to Passau. The station is outside of the town but I can take you there and pick you up again at returning. In our town there's an open air swimming pool and there's lakes nearby where you can go swimming. Bad Griesbach is a health resort with mineral springs. We have a small car, it's old but it's functioning, that you can use any time it's not needed.
  
  This is the first time we are going to host a workaway help. It's exciting and we are looking forward to your visit, as we enjoy meeting nice people from all over the world, spending time with them, and share good food, good conversations and a good laugh.
  We speak English and German, I also speak Spanish and understand a little Romanian and French, as long as it is spoken slowly :D.
