Unique experience to be part of a small dog sledding operation located in pure Yukon’s Wilderness.
Hello adventurers, travelers and dog lovers
I run a small size dog sledding operation (30 dogs) in the beautiful surrounding area of Whitehorse, Yukon (45 min from Whitehorse). I specialize in multi-day expeditions from 3 to 14 days. Living with dogs is a way of life out here. Taking good care of the dogs and sharing time with them is connecting with the real NATURE every day.
I am currently looking for a reliable, mature and resourceful helper to give me a hand for the daily dog care (feeding, watering and cleaning), dog yard work and some construction work.
The desired set of skills is: enjoying being outside, working with his/her hand, being in a good physical shape and enjoying the company of dogs.
Experience with sled dogs and construction background are an asset. Having a car is ideal or minimally a driver licence It is an unpaid position, but the accommodation and the food are provided.
The accommodation consists in an insulated camper equipped with a wood stove, cooking facilities and battery/generator power.
Free time to go hiking around or work in town. Located 20 min from the beautiful Kusawa Park and 1 hour away from the vast Kluane Park.
