    1. ABOUT THIS DESCRIPTION
This description has been written to closely reflect the agreement that will later be signed between the Host and the Workawayer. We are totally new in this. Our goal is to ensure that expectations, responsibilities, and living conditions are clear from the beginning so that both sides feel comfortable and there are no surprises during the stay. Transparency is very important to us, and we believe that a clear understanding helps create a positive and respectful experience for everyone involved.

    2. ABOUT US
We are a historic family from the city of Junín, a town of approximately 100,000 inhabitants located 270 kilometres from Buenos Aires, Argentina. We represent the fifth generation of a family dedicated to agriculture and livestock farming. Although today we work professionally in different areas, our connection to the land and rural life remains a central part of our identity and family history.

    3. ABOUT THE RANCH
The ranch is a 120-year-old property located in the northwest of the Province of Buenos Aires, along National Road 188, between the cities of Junín and Lincoln. The property is located about 5 kilometres from the national road via an unpaved rural road. The surrounding area is made up of neighbouring farms with whom we maintain excellent relationships — dairy farms, cattle breeders, polo horse breeders, and crop farmers.

Approximately 300 hectares of the ranch are leased for agricultural production (corn, soybeans, and wheat). The main house and the surrounding wooded areas remain under our direct management. In this area we keep 18 llamas, 3 horses and 2 donkeys. These animals must be checked regularly and occasionally rotated between grazing areas.

Because of the size and nature of the property, this part of the ranch requires regular maintenance. Tasks may include keeping the grounds tidy, maintaining sheds and houses, cutting grass, spraying weeds, running vehicles occasionally so they remain in good condition, and supporting tasks coordinated by the property manager who lives on a neighbouring farm.

    4. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a person or a couple who genuinely enjoys rural life. Life here is quiet and often solitary, surrounded by nature. It is ideal for someone who appreciates calm environments, practical work, and the satisfaction of seeing the results of their effort at the end of the day.

We appreciate people who are responsible, proactive, and solution-oriented — people who enjoy working as part of a small team with the caretaker, the property manager, and our family.

    5. WHAT WE OFFER
    a) A private furnished and equipped house
    b) All utilities included (water, electricity, gas, and internet)
    c) Daily contact with a family member by phone (Spanish or English)
    d) Daily interaction with the property employee and manager (Spanish)

The intention is that the Workawayer can live comfortably and independently while contributing a few hours per day to the care and maintenance of the property.

    6. WHAT TO EXPECT
Because the ranch is located in a rural area, some aspects of daily life may differ from those in a city. The property does not provide transportation to or from the ranch or nearby cities. Occasional power outages may occur due to the rural location.
Food and grocery shopping are the responsibility of the Workawayer. Each Workawayer must have their own travel and accident insurance. We believe it is important to be open about these aspects so that visitors can decide if this type of rural experience suits them.

    7. ACTIVITIES & HOURS
The Workawayer agrees to participate only in the following types of activities, which are appropriate for volunteer collaboration and do not involve risks beyond those normally associated with rural life. Possible activities include:

    a) Assisting the Property Supervisor (Guillermo)
    b) Assisting the Property Employee (Leonel)
    c) Monitoring of animals (llamas, horses, and donkeys), always under supervision
    d) Grounds maintenance such as mowing grass and spraying weeds using authorized tools
    e) Cleaning and general support in barns, corrals, sheds, and residential houses
    f) Painting walls or improving certain areas of the property
    g) Simple non-technical maintenance tasks that do not require professional skills

    Working time:
Approximately 3 hours per day, 5 days per week. Tasks and schedules can always be adjusted by mutual agreement, respecting the volunteer nature of the experience. At the end of each working day, we will have a short video call to review the tasks completed. During this call, the Workawayer will briefly explain what was done and share photographs showing the condition of the area before and after the work. Together we will then agree on the tasks for the following day. This system helps us stay coordinated even when family members are not physically present on the property.

    8. ACCOMMODATION
The Host will provide a private house with basic amenities, including:
    a) Private house and private bedrooms
    b) Bed, bed linens and towels
    c) Kitchen and cooking utensils
    d) Refrigerator and freezer
    e) Washing machine
    f) Tables and chairs
    g) Electricity and internet
    h) Water and gas.

Some water sources on the property are not potable, and the Workawayer must follow the Host’s instructions regarding safe drinking water. Meals are not provided. Transportation to or from the ranch is not provided.

The Workawayer is responsible for organizing their own transportation, including trips to town for groceries or personal needs. If the Property Manager travels to the nearest town, the Workawayer may ask if certain items can be purchased on their behalf, provided that the Workawayer reimburses the full cost of the items plus a reasonable amount for fuel and time.

    9. LIABILITY & INSURANCE
    a) Volunteer Assumption of Risk
Ranch life naturally involves certain risks such as uneven terrain, animals, tools, water areas, and natural environments. By participating in this experience, the Workawayer acknowledges these conditions and accepts responsibility for their participation.

    b) Insurance
The Workawayer must maintain valid travel, medical, and accident insurance, including coverage for healthcare, medical evacuation, and any potential injury while volunteering. The Host is not responsible for medical expenses or insurance coverage.

    c) Host Liability
The Host is not responsible for indirect loss or damage except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

    10. SAFETY & HOUSE RULES
To ensure a safe and respectful environment, the Workawayer must:
    a) Follow all safety instructions
    b) Not operate vehicles, heavy machinery, or potentially dangerous equipment without permission
    c) Respect the house rules and quiet hours

    House rules include:
    * No loud noise after 11:00 PM
    * No walking outside the house perimeter after 11:00 PM
    * No entering the forested areas at night
    * No guests allowed in the house or anywhere on the ranch

    Additionally:
    * Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited
    * Alcohol consumption must remain moderate
    * Hunting is not allowed anywhere on the property

The Host reserves the right to modify or stop any activity that may involve unreasonable risk.

    11. HOW TO GET THERE FROM BUENOS AIRES
The ranch is located between the cities of Junín and Lincoln in the Province of Buenos Aires. The most common ways to reach the property from Buenos Aires are:

    a) Bus from Buenos Aires (Retiro Terminal) to Lincoln, approximately 4.5–5 hours. From Lincoln, a taxi to the ranch takes about 15–20 minutes. Estimated cost: bus ARS 30,000–45,000; taxi ARS 15,000–25,000.

    b) Train from Buenos Aires (Retiro Station) to Junín, approximately 6 hours. From Junín, a taxi to the ranch takes about 45–60 minutes. Estimated cost: train ARS 3,000–12,000; taxi ARS 80,000–110,000.

    c) Taxi or private transfer directly from Buenos Aires to the ranch. Travel time is approximately 3–4 hours. Estimated cost: ARS 250,000–400,000.

Please note that the ranch is located about 5 km from the national road on an unpaved rural road, so the final part of the trip must always be done by car or taxi.

If you are still interested, send us your application and we will be happy to take a look at it.

    Best regards,

    Julián

Everybody speaks Spanish. Only two members of the family speak English. The daily routine would require Spanish, while the weekly discussion of tasks could eventually happen in English. The cultural exchange would be mainly based on:

    1. Carry out a change in the structure and façade of the property according to the work plan.
    2. Exchange cultural experiences with the neighbors and the property manager.
    3. Learn about the local culture in the two towns near the property (Lincoln and Junin).
    4. Propose new ideas to improve the structure of the property.
