    Beschreibung

    First of all, our hostel located in Jericó, Colombia, offers a unique and welcoming environment that embraces the Slow movement. Here you can experience a calm and relaxed pace of life, surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes and a warm community.

    Secondly, as a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to our slow projects. From helping in our gardens to participating in workshops, you can be part of our commitment to a more conscious and environmentally friendly lifestyle.

    Finally, as a volunteer, we offer you comfortable accommodation, you will also have free time to explore Jericó and enjoy its rich history, culture, and natural beauty, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in this unique experience.

    Mariana are cousins, John and David are friends, we do all the work as we are starting the bussines so we don´t have any employees.

    In love with the traveling world, we decided to start our hotel dream in a magical town in the coffee-growing mountains of Colombia, a town that looks like a postcard. We thought it was an ideal place to give free rein to what we need so much, slow down life and water philosophy with those who travel the world sowing seeds that make other cultures known. Our volunteers will be treated as part of the team, equitably distributing the tasks and exchanging ideas and, why not, new projects.

    The hostel is looking for volunteers who are interested in contributing to their commitment to the Slow movement and its philosophy. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate in various projects that seek to promote conscious living.

    Some of the tasks that volunteers can help include:

    Help in the inner garden: Our hostel has a garden, and we require help to care for and cultivate the plants. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to learn about local plants and work as a team to maintain our garden.

    Collaborate in workshops: We regularly organize workshops and activities for our guests and the local community. As a volunteer, you will be able to help organize and lead workshops in areas such as cooking, gardening or crafts.

    Help with cleaning and maintenance: Keeping our hostel clean and organized is an important task. As a volunteer, you can help clean and organize common areas, such as the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms.

    Participation in Slow projects: We care about promoting a conscious and balanced lifestyle, and as a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to Slow projects, ranging from the creation of local food to education on the Slow philosophy.

    Help at reception and customer service: As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to interact with our guests and attend to their needs, helping us with reception and customer service.

    We offer a friendly and relaxed work environment, where you will have the opportunity to work with a team committed to the Slow movement and its philosophy. In exchange for your work, we offer accommodation and free time to explore beautiful Jericó and its surroundings.     The hostel offers a type of cozy and shared accommodation, which encourages interaction and community spirit among guests. In our hostel, rooms, kitchen, bathrooms and common areas are shared, which creates an atmosphere of conviviality and an opportunity to meet people from different places and cultures.

    Shared rooms are comfortably designed with either bunk beds or single beds, providing plenty of space to kick back and relax. Each guest has their own private space inside the room, where they can safely store their belongings.

    The kitchen is a common space and the heart of the hostel, equipped with everything you need to prepare meals, from utensils to appliances. Here, guests can share moments around the kitchen, exchanging recipes, learning new ways of cooking, and enjoying international and local meals together.
    We do not offer meals but we like to share and cook together, the kitchen is open for guests and volunteer as well.

    Bathrooms are also shared, but are designed for privacy and comfort. They are kept clean and tidy, ensuring a hygienic environment for all guests.

    In addition to the private areas, the hostel has large common areas where guests can socialize, relax and enjoy quiet moments. These areas offer cozy spaces to read, chat or simply enjoy the company of other travelers.

    The best way to get to Jericó is from Medellín, Colombia, keep the following in mind:

    Ground transportation: Go to the Terminal del Sur in Medellín. This terminal is located in the Poblado neighborhood and is the starting point for buses going to Jericó.

    Purchase of tickets: In the South Terminal, look for the ticket office of the transport company that offers the service to Jericó. Transportes Jericó Pueblorrico Tarso S.A.S. Buy your ticket to Jericó at the time that best suits your needs. We recommend taking the route that goes through Bolombolo, it is the shortest route to Jericó. The approximate value of the ticket is $34,000 COP.

    Travel time: The bus trip from Medellín to Jericó usually takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Prepare to enjoy some beautiful scenery during the tour, as you will pass through mountains, valleys and picturesque landscapes.

    Arrival in Jericó: Upon arrival in Jericó, you will meet at the local bus terminal. From there, you can walk or take a taxi to reach your final destination, whether it is the hostel or another place where you are staying.
