  Beschreibung

  We are a volunteer-led cat rescue group based in Kuching, Sarawak. We carry out daily rescues of sick and injured cats, and fund our work by operating a thrift shop and backpacker hostel in Kuching city centre. We also operate a cat shelter just a short drive from town.
  
  We are looking for someone (solo or couple) who has an interest in helping cats, and assisting with duties such as daily shelter maintenance, rescues, adoption events, and all kinds of other cat rescue related things.
  
  This is a great opportunity for somebody who loves cats, and wants to learn more about how rescues work. No prior experience is required, just the willing to get involved!

  When you stay with us you’ll get to learn about the unique history and culture of Kuching (aka Cat City). You can also explore the rich cultures of Sarawak - home to dozens of indigenous tribes. Your accomodation is in the town centre on the Kuching heritage trail, where you will find the cultural museum, the old Chinese town, various colonial buildings, Chinese temples, stunning mosques, and bustling market places. As well as the famous Kuching waterfront.
  
  You will also meet fellow travellers from all over the world while staying at our hostel, as well as local cat lovers who visit our events, shop, and our shelter .

  Arbeit

  We are looking for an individual or couple who can help with cleaning and general daily tasks at our shelter, helping out at fundraising or adoption events, or who may be interested in assisting with carrying out rescues. Hours worked are very flexible, with typically a couple of hours needed at the shelter to help with feeding/cleaning, plus help with events or rescues as and when they take place. We expect our volunteers to have a lot of free time to enjoy Kuching, and we also make sure to show you interesting things around the area.

  Unterkunft

  You will have a double bedroom with air con at out backpackers hostel. This room shares a toilet and bathroom with one other room.
  
  The hostel is located in the centre of the city, in the old heritage part of town. There are lots of eateries and bars in our street, as well as temples, mosques etc. all very close by. We are just a 2 minute walk from the waterfront, 5 minutes from a large mall, and 10 minutes from the Borneo Cultures museum.
