Hi I live on Shawnigan lake on a large property. There are two houses side by side and a small bunk house in the garden. I rent the main house to a family of six. I host work traders in my large open concept cabin as well as the bunk house. I also live in Vancouver on 49th avenue near Ontario street (south van).
I host work traders in my spare bedroom in Vancouver.
I work as a on call pilot in Vancouver and spend as much time at my lake house as possible. I fly a lot in the summer so I spend less time at the lake during the summer. My house in Vancouver has a very large garden with apple trees, fig trees and grapes.
At the lake house I mostly welcome help with landscaping as it’s a big wooded area. At my house in Vancouver I need help with turning apples into apple sauce watering the garden and weeding etc.
I lived in a community on salt spring island (called Aloha) for a year and work traded so I know what it’s all about.
At my lake house I have kayaks and canoes for lend. At my house in Vancouver I have bicycles to lend as well as my car if you’re a confident driver.
I found that 5 hours work was too much when I was a work trader so I ask for only 3 hours a day.
More fun less work is my policy. My intention is to interact with work traders get to know them and embrace cultural, intellectual, and spiritual exchange.
At the lake I participate in breath work ceremonies. In Vancouver I go to ecstatic dances and drum circles. I invite work traders to join me if they feel inspired to do so.
At the lake house I have a sauna and hot tub that the work trader would also have access to. In Vancouver there are many great places and beaches to take the bicycles to.

I know the area very well and there is lots of hiking and lake activities to partake in.
