  Beschreibung

  This is an international artists residency. The residency is based in the heart of the Medina of Tunis, a calm place providing a change in scenery that will foster cultural exchange and innovation.
  
  The residency is located in BAB SOUIKA, a living and historical popular district. Artists might come to work on a precise developped project or to develop an idea of a project. We offer them private work spaces, co-working spaces with a wide range of tools necessary for creation and an exhibition/performance space if needed.
  
  The residency was built around the 1900s and served for a long period of time as religious associations retreat where they lived in autonomy thanks to the house’s big garden.
  
  The residence comprises :
  2 kitchens : ground floordirect access to the garden and first level, closer to residents.
  3 showerrooms
  6 rooms with different atmospheres and decorations 
  A chapel revamped into a workshop and maybe used as exhibition/performance space
  Three shared spaces : oriental living room in the first level, Tunisian living room in the gound level and a reading/music space
  The house offers as well a lot of outdoor exhibition/performance spaces such as the flat roof, the big garden or the terrace…
  Currently we are 2 employ, me and my husband, working everyday for the residency.

  travelers will share community life with us and the different artists who pass through the house. It is a unique experience that will allow them to discover different cultures while living in the heart of the medina of Tunis, a popular place full of history and tradition.

• 

  Arbeit

  We are looking for help with general maintenance of the house such as cleaning, tidying up, welcoming artists and organizing various events. We are looking for sociable, versatile people who adapt well. We would also need help to manage the communication of our place such as keeping our website and social networks up to date. We are open to all proposals.

  Unterkunft

  The traveler will benefit from a private room. The house has 2 bathrooms and 2 shared kitchens
  In the house we function as a community. We regularly share meals and everyone has the opportunity to cook.

  We are used to welcoming people and giving them the best tips to better discover the country and its culture. We put in place a clear program when the traveler arrives so that they can organize their free time as they wish.
