Help with DIY project on a sailing boat in Lymington, Australia

  Beschreibung

  I live in a small cohousing community on 19 acre land waterfront to a beautiful sandy beach. There is a little hut with a kitchenette where the helper can stay. The bathroom with spa bath is shared with me 50 meters away.
  I am a 78 year old woman originally from Denmark and live here with my pony.
  Next-door lives a 39 year old aboriginal man with his young son and friendly staffy dog. He is very much involved in aboriginal heritage.
  Next-door lives a 23 year old woman with her indoor cat.
  The property is drug- and alcohol free. If you smoke cigarettes, you can do that outside putting the butts in an astray.
  
  7 km away is Cygnet where there are small supermarkets, cafes, art shops, library, churches etc. The Cygnet Folk Festival is in January 2025.

  I'll be teaching you how to perform maintenance on a wooden yacht.
  I am Danish, and speak German and English too. I am happy to share my culture including cooking Danish and vegan dishes. I also enjoy cooking Australian recipes.
  A member of the community here is aboriginal and is happy to teach you about indigenous culture and history.
  We are all diverse in ages, cultural backgrounds, spirituality, and identities and are open to sharing our stories and connecting.

  Arbeit

  I need help with boat maintenance.
  
  I need help with preparing my 32 foot wooden sailing yacht for the Australian Wooden Boat Festival 7 - 10 February 2025. It means stripping the varnish, sanding, re-varnish the top and sides, and cleaning and anti-fouling the bottom.
  At the end of the job you'll get a sailing trip.
  
  I'll teach you all the work involved.

  Unterkunft

  There is a little hut with a kitchenette for you. The bathroom with spa is 50 metres away and is shared with me.
  
  I serve vegan dinners, but if you eat meat there's BBQ outside in the courtyard where you can cook your own meat.
  
  I'll cook dinners each night and ingredients for breakfast and lunch will be provided to you. You'll have access to the kitchenette in your hut, there's also the BBQ and an oven that you're welcome to use. We can also provide crockery etc if need be.

  The beach is a 2 minute walk away. Sometimes there's a mobile sauna parked down there.
  We have regular dinners together with the community here.
  
  Your own transport is necessary. But we can pick you up from the bus stop in Cygnet, and Ella works in Hobart some days can could pick you up there on those days. We can also give lifts sometimes to be more sustainable.

  There's plenty of room for campers/motorhomes, and they can share my bathroom and laundry, where there also is a double wall oven. At the beach there is a mobile sauna every second Saturday that you can book and pay for an hours session.
