Hello, my name is Andrea. I am 62 years old and live with my husband Hans in one half of the house. I would describe myself as creative, open-minded, spiritual and straightforward. I recently retired. My daughter Rafaela is 27 and lives in part of the second house with her two cats. There is plenty of space for you, and you will have your own bedroom and bathroom. You will have to share the kitchen and living room.

A public bus that starts a few minutes from the house takes you to downtown Vienna in 30 minutes. The underground can be reached in 15 minutes on foot and also takes you to various culturally interesting places. There are countless sights, parks and museums to discover in Vienna. There are famous shopping streets as well as theater and concert offerings.

My stay at Andrea's house was very pleasant, I enjoyed it and was above my expectations. Below, some of the highlights:

GETTING THERE: It was easy, from the airport I took metro and a bus. Then I just walked a few minutes in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Vienna.

WORK: Andrea was clear about the tasks in which she needed help and then … read more gave me new ones, as I finished the initials. She gave my flexibility for my schedule, as I have an online job too, so I could manage my time and I was sure to complete all the tasks in the best way possible 😊. Most of the tasks were outdoors, so if you go in summer, be sure to wear long sleeves, a hat and/or lotion. Andrea had enough tools to carry out the jobs properly and she allowed me to use them all. I have a lot of experience in gardening and I had no problem recognizing and using the most appropriate tool for each task.

FOOD: The food was a good surprise since Andrea is also a vegetarian and she prepared dishes that felt very goodon my stomach. For breakfasts, it was mainly porridge with fruits and the other meals were based on legumes, cereals, vegetables. We had a couple Austrian desserts 🥧. She also gave me fruits, which I love, as well as other snacks to have with me. I really appreciate that. 🤗

SPACE: I was staying in a room in the house next-door that was quite spacious, private and clean. I only had sometimes problems with the stability of the internet, but at the end of my stay there was already a solution. There was also a natural pool that I loved. Although I did not use it many times, it seemed like a very good element to take care of nature.

SURROUNDINGS: The neighborhood is calm and nearby there is a forest to walk and connect with nature. If you need references Andrea can tell you some interesting places to visit by walk or bus, Vienna es just 20-30min away. I am not much into walking/hiking so the majority of free time I used working online or resting.

In general I really liked the stay with Andrea, I initially thought that we would have more difficulties communicating, but both Andrea and John knew enough English or used translator for more difficult ideas/words. She shared interesting stories of her life and her work and I learned more from some ecological practices that she carries out in her house. I also had the opportunity to play some chess games with John, who was at home a few days and was also very kind to me.
