Help out with some maintenance projects, mainly gardening, at my home in Black Mountain, Australia

  I live on my own, on a one acre property on Black Mountain, which is near Cooroy, a Noosa hinterland town on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. I am in my seventies but I am very healthy and reasonably fit. I have a female Staffy, called Bella and I take her for a walk every afternoon, as we both enjoy the peaceful forests that surround us. I am a published author, a registered End-of-Life Doula and I have enjoyed several creative activities. I am needing some occasional help with maintaining my property, inside and outside. My house is very simple but comfortable and I am surrounded by trees, birds and the occasional wildlife. The nearest shopping centre is about 5 kilometres from home and Noosa Main Beach is about twenty-five. Brisbane is approximately seventy five minutes drive by car and about two hours by train. There are many beaches and forests close by but would be difficult to get to without having a vehicle available. I would be prepared to drive a guest to a desired location but not every day.

  I love interacting with people from different parts of the world, learning as much about their culture as I can. There is no doubt that I would be in a position to teach them about living in England, New Zealand and Australia. I have travelled quite extensively around Europe and the USA as well. My mother was French so I have visited France on several occasions and I manage to communicate with a very basic understanding of the language. Over the years I have been an artist, a jeweller, a potter and now I am a writer. So, I think I would be able to share some knowledge on these subjects.

  Arbeit

  I have a ride-on mower which I am able to use quite confidently but I have trouble with the whipper-snipper because it is so labour intensive. There are areas of my property where my ride-on is not preferred, due to the slope of the ground. There are often minor maintenance tasks that I would like help with around the house too, like cleaning the gutters and chopping down branches that overhang my roof. There are other things I need doing that require attention as they happen. I do have a few tools, including a chainsaw.

  Unterkunft

  Guests would have their own bedroom, with a queen-size bed, that has access to the front veranda. The bedroom has a ceiling fan and an oil filled heater. They would also have their private bathroom, which houses a washing machine, as well as their own toilet. Depending on arrangements made with each guest, they would have complete access to the kitchen and lounge room. This includes use of the fridge, crockery, cutlery and other cooking equipment.

  Black Mountain is situated within easy driving distance to several beaches and forests, with many small villages to discover. My house is about five kilometres from Cooroy, which is the closest access to public transport. If a guest did not have their own vehicle, then it would be possible for an amicable arrangement to be made, to overcome this problem. The area is filled with many artists of all descriptions, so there are several galleries and places to learn artistic crafts. There are many surf beaches in the area, as well as forests to walk through and mountains to climb. There are also an abundance of restaurants on the Sunshine Coast, offering a vast selection of cuisines from around the world.
