I am a single mother with one son aged 13. I live in a tourist ic part of Ireland near the Cliffs of Moher in a small town called Lisdoonvarna. I play fiddle and teach traditional Irish music regularly. Our house is a 5 minute walk from The Roadside Tavern. This pub is famous for its historical links to Clare traditional music and has open music sessions 3 nights a week.
There are free shuttle buses across the region during the day between May and August

Anyone who wants to learn about Irish traditional music, about some of the rural resilience and community projects related to traditional farming and local history we are working on here would be able to join in the fun side and get experience alongside other volunteers here, including myself. HoOr specifically tutoring in fiddle/violin id be happy to do with that. Perhaps help with improving English speaking or writing. I am particularly good at writing business and academic English so I can give advice on CVs, job applications or, for example, if you are studying and writing reports in English.

I perform and teach traditional Irish music so a musician may enjoy learning and playing music together. I am also keen to learn more cooking but neither of these things are essential!

Really I hope we can help each other and exchange languages and culture. I would love for my son to have more experience of different languages and culture and get some more fun and attention.

I would love any help with some gardening (growing veg), and maybe some help around the house. I prefer to do tasks together alongside with people as I find it more fun and easier to learn from each other.

I'd be happy to help you improve your English if that's something you'd like help with. I could always do with some help practising another language, particularly European languages like Portuguese, French, Spanish or German.

Lisdoonvarna is quite rural and a 3 hour trip from Dublin, although Shannon airport is only about 1 hr away, Ennis is 40-50minutes depending on traffic.
There are 3 pubs and 2 grocery shops within a 10minute walk of my house, in fact the whole town is within a 10minute walk! My favourite pub, The Roadside Tavern has open sessions (music anyone can join) 3 nights a week during the tourist season and at least 1 night a week during the winter.

This small region of North West Clare is a network of small villages and towns all within 15-20mins drive of Ennistymon, which is my central hub even though I live in Lisdoonvarna. Ennistymon has 2 supermarkets, a good few pubs and 2 or 3 good restaurarants a library, a community centre and a digital hub (hireable workspace with great internet). It is famous for its traditional shop fronts, the beautiful cascades (kind of a drawn out waterfall) along the river and its local food and amazingly good live music scene.

The nearest place for a swim is Doolin Pier which is 10mins in a car or 20mins by bicycle. There are also great beaches at Fanore and Lahinch both 20-30mins away in opposite directions from me. Surfing is very popular here and there is plenty of opportunity for surf lessons, rock climbing, hiking and caving in the nearby Burren National Park. This region is also famous for its traditional music and is saturated with musicians and the enjoyment of music and dancing, plus the relatively famous (niche fame now, very niche,) pubs known for traditional music such as O'Connors (Doolin) and the Roadside Tavern (Lisdoonvarna).

You are welcome to join me in playing music and I'd be happy to teach anyone fiddle who thinks they could do with a bit of tuition.

I spend a good bit of time, particularly in the Spring and Autumn, helping my neighbours with gardening (growing and harvesting vegetables). Last year we got together to press apples and collect the juice and have a bit of tunes and dancing after, so hope to do that again this year. We do some meitheals (community work days) every now and again. There are also opportunities locally to get involved with nature restoration projects and skill sharing etc with organisaitons such as 'Common Knowledge' (10 min bike ride away) or 'Home Tree' (10min car journey) who we seem to have a lot of here. Maybe you can volunteer or work with them if that's what interests you?

I don't really have one regular job or employer. I teach and play music online and in person, plus other bits of work, help and learning. I would be at home a reasonable amount and well into the 9-5 working day. Over a week its reasonably predictable but every week is different if that makes sense? I tend to be busiest on weekday evenings and weekends - basically the opposite to most people. I will be up in the morning to take my son to school and would be at home most of the week. I don't have a home broadband connection I just use my phone data and this is sufficient for 95% of my use of the internet including streaming and zoom calls etc. You are welcome to share my data during the daytime or use your own mobile connection which in my opinion is pretty good in this area. If you need to be alone and have a top notch connection - There is a library 10mins drive away in Ennistymon that has free broadband, there's also a work hub in the same town that offers broadband connection, desk and tea/coffee making facilities for 40euro a week. I don't mind driving people if they are really stuck although there are buses. Cycling is possible but youd have to go on back roads. Main roads are dangerous due to traffic/ infrastructure style.
