  We are Robert and Asheba, in 2020 we left Holland to retire in Sertã , we have a cat she enjoys roaming our and our neighbours- land. Our three grown up children live and work in The Netherlands.
  One project that was offered is Cambridge English lessons to the locals, which was successful, money raised for that was donated to a cultural organisation which we joined here, Our house is beautifully situated 2 km from Sertã, central Portugal. 360 degree scenic views of the hills. Sertã has a lot to offer, shops, restaurants, music events and beautiful nature. The (Rede Express) bus network from here has connections to Lisbon, Tomar, Coimbra, Porto etc. We have a large established house however it needs a few updates and maintenance which we need some help with, with your help we hope to speed-up the improvement progress, please see under ‘Help’ what help we could use.
  
  We provide own rooms with bathroom, delicious meals and social time is vital. Our home is very comfortable with relaxation areas. We follow the necessary protocol. A balanced work and social experience. We welcome students and or professionals. The promise is to make it an enjoyable and fruitful experience. We love good food, music, art, literature and floral gardening. We are definitely not off-grid, we have all the necessary modern equipment, however it's tranquil, relaxing, comfortable and extremely beautiful. A lovely high standard. I am a Teacher and Rob is a retired IT specialist. We are internationally orientated. We both worked for International organisations in The Netherlands.

  Arbeit

  From time to time we do projects in and around our property, for these stipulated times we call ‘Last minute’ help. We appreciate your time to help us with our last minute projects, if you have any DIY skills, even better, don't hesitate to please contact us we appreciate and respect your time and efforts. Huge thanks, we look forward to seeing you.
  
  We are looking for motivated workaway individuals with skills to help with one or more of the following small improvement projects:
  
  * remove/repair/re-plaster by water leakage effected plaster at some small areas inside our house.
  * construct a simple kitchen counter with sink.
  * renovate/paint the utility room.
  * replace internet distribution UTP cabling through existing tubes
  * plaster repair/paint the hallway.
  * reorganise the workshop
  * paint the perimeter walls
  * upholster our fireplace bench
  * setup beds for growing vegetables
  
  * clear out our land from branches and stones.
  * help in storing fire wood.
  
  
  
  Depending on the type of work, we will be doing tasks together if the situation requires. work will be in a structured and organised manner.
  We are neat, tidy, clean and organised.
  We will have protection materials such as gloves, eye, breathing and ear protection available.

  Unterkunft

  Clean bedroom and bathroom with shower in a safe, established and comfortable house in a country side setting, 2 km away from Serta town in central Portugal. Meals and drinks available. No smoking in the house permitted.

  Was noch ...

  Sightseeing places like Tomar or Coimbra are about an hour's drive. Porto or Lisbon are 2 hours away. Sertã has many river beaches, municipality in- out- door pool and cultural activities.
  We live a quiet life and like to socialise with friends, we normally end the day before midnight and get up early. During the day temperatures can be fairly warm.

  Zusje (5 Jahren)

  'Zusje' is half Siamese, she had a twin brother 'Broertje', he unfortunately died in 2024. She is a very active cat, always investigating, hunting, climbing trees and also likes to sleep. Besides all that also likes to cuddle and play!
