Beschreibung
We are a professional couple in our early 40’s and 50's, who love to bring old things to life - first our wooden boats, then also our cabin in the mountains, which used to be a church storage shed back in the early 1700 (before the church was speapt away by a tsunami from the fjord!). We also have other ongoing projects around the house or in the garden (veggies, flowers and shrubs).
We love meeting new people from different cultures and we love sharing the experience of life in Norway.
We live right next to the town of Ålesund, considered the most beautiful town in Norway, among islands, mountains and fjords. In our free time, we love traveling, boating, fishing, skiing, cooking, relaxing, and drinking wine!Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Arbeit
We are good at finding things to do, so projects vary a lot and may relate to the restoration of our cabin in the mountain, maintenance of the boats, gardening or various building/carpentry projects.
A handy, energetic person(s) who love(s) nature and the outdoor would be perfect. Having experience in building, carpenting or gardening would be an advantage. Weather is a big thing in Norway, so workawayers coming to our part of the world beed to be prepared that it may be both raining and snowing un the summer :-)Sprachen

During the cabin project, it is possible to stay in the cabin itself, which is very cosy and authentic, and is located in a very nice hiking/skiing area in the mountains. It is a former church storage shed (stabbur) from the early 1700, which stood alone after the old church of Stranda and much of the town itself were sweapt by the fjord tsunami in 1731. It was dismantled and put up again as a shepherd's cabin higher up in the mountain valley. Now it is right next to the fantastic Stranda Skisenter and a great starting point for strolls, climbs, fishing, and exploring the fjords (Geiranger and Hjørundfjorden are very near by).
The rest of the time, it is possible to stay in our house in town by the sea, where we can also go fishing. In town there is only 5 min walk to the paths to the mountain, which can provide a breathtaking wiew over the islands, mountainspeeks and the fjords.
There is high speed internet in town, and a wifi connection at the cabin, so wherever we are, we usually connected.
The person(s) who come over, will be treated as family member(s) and friend(s), and will be invited to take part in all activities and fun around. Was noch ...
The region is incredibly beautiful, and a home to Norway's most famous fjords and waterfalls. If you like nature, boating, fishing, mountain climbing, photography, you will be happy here :-) We will be taking you out at sea with our wooden fishing boat, we will definitely have some nice food and fun, or you could borrow a bike or a fishing rod and explore on your own. From Ålesund, there are very convenient day trips to Geiranger, Trollstigen, Hjørundfjorden, Norangdalen, Molladalen, Slogen, Nordøyene, Runde (the puffin island!), and many more. If you like diving, surfing or windsurfing, there are great places at Vigra, Alnes, Hoddevik, and Lyngstøylvatnet (but for these, you need to have your own equipment). You could google these locations, it will make your mouth water :-)
