Beschreibung
Hello! My name is Johnny and I’m an entrepreneur from Trujillo, Peru, working in the home décor and window treatments industry, with a strong focus on curtains and interior textiles.
In July 2026, my brand will participate in Trujillo Design Week (6th edition), a national design event that will take place from July 11 to July 19, 2026, in the city of Trujillo, Peru. The theme of this edition is “The Color of My Land”, celebrating identity, culture, and local inspiration through design.
I’m looking for architecture or interior design students (or recent graduates) who want to collaborate on the design of an interior space where curtains play a central role. This is a hands-on, real project with public exposure, ideal for building an international portfolio.
In exchange for your collaboration, I offer accommodation and food, cultural exchange, and full credit for your design work. This experience is perfect for creative, motivated people who want to learn and grow while living in Latin America for a few months.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
Staying with us offers a genuine cultural exchange in Trujillo, Peru, a city rich in history, traditions, and coastal lifestyle. Volunteers will experience daily Peruvian life, local food, and the culture of northern Peru, while also sharing their own culture, ideas, and design perspectives.
You will be part of a creative environment, working closely with a local brand and learning how design, craftsmanship, and local identity come together in a real project. There will be opportunities to explore the city, visit cultural and historical sites, and connect with local designers and creatives during Trujillo Design Week.
We value open communication, mutual respect, and collaboration. This exchange is not only about work, but about learning from each other, sharing cultures, and building international friendships through creativity and design.
Arbeit
I’m looking for help from architecture or interior design students (or recent graduates) to collaborate on the design and development of an interior space for Trujillo Design Week 2026.
The main tasks include:
• Developing an interior design concept aligned with the event theme “The Color of My Land”
• Designing a space where curtains and textiles are the main design element
• Creating mood boards, color palettes, layouts, and basic 3D or visual proposals
• Leading the implementation of the proposed design, ensuring it is executed according to the original concept and the event theme
• Supporting the setup and preparation of the space before the event
This is a creative, hands-on project, not construction work. The focus is on design leadership, creativity, and real exhibition experience. Volunteers will be involved from concept to execution and will receive full credit for their work.

Unterkunft
Volunteers will stay in a shared apartment located very close to the city center of Trujillo. The apartment is comfortable and practical, ideal for a short- to mid-term stay.
The space includes:
• A shared kitchen fully equipped for daily cooking
• living room to relax
• A shared bathroom with shower
• Wi-Fi access
• A safe and convenient location with easy access to shops, public transport, and main areas of the city
The apartment offers a friendly and respectful shared-living environment, allowing volunteers to feel at home while experiencing daily life in Trujillo.
We provide three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) in exchange for up to 25 hours of help per week, with two full days off.
Meals are usually traditional local Peruvian food, which we love to share as part of the cultural exchange. However, if workawayers prefer to cook for themselves, they are more than welcome to do so.
A fully equipped kitchen is available at all times, and when shared meals are not possible, we can provide ingredients or contribute to groceries so workawayers can prepare their own meals.
We aim to keep food arrangements flexible, comfortable, and respectful of individual preferences, while encouraging cultural exchange whenever possible.

Basic knowledge of Spanish is important for this project. Volunteers will need to communicate with local architects, designers, and event organizers, as well as interact with visitors during Trujillo Design Week.
The ability to present and explain your design concept (in simple Spanish) during the event is highly valued, as this will help visitors understand the idea behind the space and the connection to the event theme.
This is a great opportunity to practice Spanish in a real professional and cultural context while gaining international design experience.
