Help to bring life back to my house and garden in Trabia, Italy

  Beschreibung

  My name is Marcy. I have a Piccolo Casa next to the Bed and Breakfast Casa Siciliana in Trabia, Sicily which makes this little place even more enjoyable because we meet people from all around the world. I am currently bringing life back to this small house after it was abandoned by a young family over 10 years ago.
  
  I love the process of bringing back the charm and usefulness of the Piccolo Casa, and we have come a long way....but still much more to do in the garden which has 9 olive trees, 2 almond trees, a fig tree and some loquat trees. Also, painting the interior and exterior of the single story stucco casa is high on my list.
  
  My cousin and many of my friends are artists so we have begun creating a wall mural with the help of many hands. Artists are certainly needed for this project too. I bring my friends from America for Working Adventures and am now in the process of asking for permission to stay. I will return to Sicily from Virginia in March then be back in the USA in Sept. and be back in Sicily in October and November for the Olive Harvest.
  
  Being neighbors with the wonderful family next door allows the use of their beautiful swimming pool, hiking trails, rides to the train station so we can venture into Palermo and other unique places. Sicily's many historic sites are only hours away in any direction, with Mt. Etna, Cefalu, The Valley of the Temples, Palermo just a few of the many attractions.
  
  I have grown to be one of the family next door and I know any Workaway person will understand why.
  
  I do not have a car yet, so often we share the cost of a rental car. Sometimes my friends or Workawayers pay for the car. In any case friends and Workawayers can explore Sicily on their own if they choose.
  
  I do not drink alcohol, but responsible drinking is OK.

  Arbeit

  We would work together developing the garden, both as in a place to grow veggies, and in the creation of a beautiful setting with grass, stone art, plantings of several sorts. The property is small, yet has potential with the olive trees being a beautiful backdrop.
  
  We will work together decorating the rooms, painting and creating an elegant yet comfortable environment.
  
  We will work together painting the exterior of the house and sidewalks. Easy to do...just more fun with friends.

  There is a train station close by for those who prefer not to drive to surrounding cities and sites. We can usually give a ride to the train station which is about 15 miles down the road. The little town of Trabia has a street market on Mondays. We are very close to Palermo and Cefalu and only a couple hours from The Valley of the Temples. I recently applied for my Permission to Stay so hope to offer more Workaway time frames by the end of the year.
