  I am a retired lady, living in a small suburb near Siena. Since the recent passing of my husband, I live alone in a flat with two spare rooms. It seems to me, therefore, that this would be a good time to try something new, and one idea that has interested me for some time is living with others.
  For 30 years, I welcomed people from all over the world to the organic B'n'B I ran with my husband. I know I like to share new perspectives on the world, but now I am trying to create a deeper experience of community. That is why I am mainly looking for other retired people interested in staying for at least a month. It would be an experiment, perhaps a little utopian, to cook or eat together, to share various tasks together with household expenses, and to integrate everyone's needs. It would also be an experiment in open conversation, a place for exchanging different cultures and ideas.
  I have lived in Tuscany all my life, but there are still many places I would like to visit in the region and many favourite places I like to show people. So I would like to take small trips in and around Siena, go to concerts and festivals, or even to go dancing, an activity that I am now starting to again to appreciate. As a plain-speaking countrywoman, I appreciate those who speak clearly about what they are looking for when they visit. As for me, living in a quiet flat, with energy and time on my hands, I hope I have not yet reached the end of new experiences of living in community.

  Sono una signora in pensione; vivo in un piccolo sobborgo vicino di Siena. Dalla recente scomparsa di mio marito, vivo da sola in appartamento con due stanze libere. Nel mio pensiero, questo sarebbe un buon momento di provare qualcosa di nuova, e un’idea che mi interessa da tempo è quella di vivere con gli altri.
  Per trent'anni ho accolto persone provenienti da tutto il mondo nell'agriturismo che gestivo con mio marito. So che mi piace condividere nuove prospettive sul mondo, ma ora sto cercando di creare un'esperienza più profonda di comunità. Per questo motivo cerco soprattutto persone in pensione interessate a restare almeno un mese. Sarebbe un sperimentare, forse un po’ eutopico, di cucinare o mangiare insieme, di condividere i vari compiti, le spese della casa e dei consumi, e integrare le esigenze di tutti. Sarebbe ugualmente un sperimentare nella conversazione aperta, nell'incontro di culture diverse, e nelle idee.
  Ho vissuto in Toscana tutta la mia vita, ma ci sono ancora molti posti che vorrei visitare nella regione e molti posti preferiti che mi piace mostrare alla gente. Mi piacerebbe quindi fare piccole gite a Siena e dintorni, andare a concerti e festival, o anche ballare, attività che sto ricominciando adesso a gioire. Da contadina, apprezzo chi parla chiaramente di ciò che cerca quando viene a visitare. Per quanto mi riguarda, nel questo periodo di vita, vivendo in un appartamento tranquillo, e con energie e tempo a disposizione, spero di non essere ancora giunta alla fine di nuove esperienze di vivere in comunità.

  Arbeit

  After thirty years of receiving guests in our agriturismo, enjoying their company and the company of Wwoofer-volunteers throughout the years, we would like to create the same feeling in our life in retirement. At our age, we may need a bit of help (a little gardening, some internet-help), but we mainly look for and enjoy a house full of life, exchanging thoughts and sharing companionship.

  Dopo trent'anni di accoglienza nel nostro agriturismo, in cui abbiamo gioito della compagnia dei nostri clienti e di quella dei volontari Wwoofer, vorremmo ricreare la stessa atmosfera nella mia vita in pensione. Potrò aver bisogno di un po' di aiuto (ad esempio nel giardinaggio e nell’uso di internet), ma soprattutto cerchiamo e vogliamo godere di una casa piena di vita, scambiandoci pensieri e condividendo la compagnia.

  I offer a room and bathroom.
  Foodwise, I'm an omnivore but can cook anything (vegetarian, vegan, etc.). We can talk about eating together, as you prefer: I cook, or we cook together, we eat together all the time or only sometimes. Everything can be done in dialogue.

  Ho da offrire due camere e bagno. Per quanto riguarda il cibo, sono onnivora ma posso cucinare qualsiasi cosa (vegetariano, vegano, ecc.). Possiamo parlare di mangiare insieme, come preferisci: io cucino, o cuciniamo insieme, mangiamo sempre insieme o solo qualche volta. Tutto si può fare dialogando.

  Since I live close to Siena (5km), visiting the lovely city is always an option. There is a bus going to Siena, at least once every hour. Once in Siena, there's a train station that can connect you with Firenze (1,5h), Pisa (2,5h), the seaside (2,5h), etc.

  Dal momento che vivo vicino a Siena (5 km), visitare questa città è sempre una bella opzione. C'è un autobus che va a Siena, almeno una volta ogni ora. La stazione ferroviaria di Siena può collegarti ad esempio con Firenze (1,5 ore), Pisa (2,5 ore), il mare (2,5 ore).
