Set next to the cascading and crystal clear Merbok Waterfalls, the Retreat is a cozy and uniquely designed private resort home. It is located next to the Lembah Bujang Archeological Museum, which is the oldest Hindu civilization in South East Asia. The resort home is set at the foot of Gunung Jerai, the highest mountain of Kedah.
Steven is living here for the last few decades. He would love to share his love for nature at his place. He is looking for 2-3 volunteers over 25 years old (non smokers only) at a time to help.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Volunteers can enjoy free stay at the resort home. During your free time, you can enjoy outdoor activities like mountains trekking, waterfall trail, yoga, meditation...etc
Due to culture and religion, women outfit should be proper and respectful in public area.Arbeit
Help cleaning up the waterfalls for 2-3 hours daily and teach the local kids to take care of their environment. Some days volunteers could also help cleaning the jungle trail up to Gunung Jerai or build a little kitchen garden.
If you have any new ideas, feel free to suggest your initiatives to Steven. For example, signs or trash bin can be built along the path.
The rest of the day volunteers can relax or explore the nearby area and learn about the tropical jungle.Gesprochene Sprachen

In exchange, Steven offers a fan room with 3 queen beds as accommodation. The room is equipped with an insect screen. Night temperature is around 20°C. There is an outdoor shower with hot water, music/movie lounge and an outdoor kitchen facilities.
Bed-sheets, pillowcase and blanket will be provide. No sleeping bag allowed.
Refreshments like tea/coffee, drinking water and bread will be provided. However, volunteers will have to buy food from the nearby local market, which is only 2km away from the house and cook on their own in the outdoor kitchen.

To come here:
- Take a bus/train to Sungai Petani. Then you have to take a Grab taxi to Lembah Bujang Archeological Museum. When you arrive at the museum, you should call Steven for pickup.
Before you come, we advice you to get your own Sim card for internet. Celcom will have a better coverage compare to other Telcom providers.
As for safety, you will have to the full responsibility of taking care of yourself in the nature. Volunteers are advised to get your own insurance.Etwas mehr Information
