  About the organization:
  
  We are a self sustained microfinance organization providing financial education and services to rural women entrepreneurs. Our head office is based in Vientiane and the current 16 service units spread across 6 provinces and serve more than 350 villages mostly in rural districts.
  
  We want to support our key staff in the head office by offering English courses to them during working hours to make the organization ready to profit from knowledge exchange in the region.
  
  Currently, two of our staff transitioned from online learning to presence teaching again. The current volunteer will support two organizations so we split the teaching time among individuals and groups accordingly.

  Lao people are very welcoming and this assignment would leave plenty of time to join the staff in visiting the rural areas, interact with the local people while on work related travel.

• 

  Arbeit

  We look for candidates who are matching the following requirements:
  
  - mother tongue English
  - experience in teaching ESL
  - the minimum is 8 weeks and longer stays are desirable to achieve that the students adjust to accents and different teaching methods. Short-term teaching assignments did not render the results we were hoping for.

  Unterkunft

  The organization will be able to provide an apartment close to the office where training will be conducted. The organization will cover the rent for the volunteer. Often, our staff is usually cooking for lunch and putting some money together to buy for common lunch. The volunteer is welcome to join in. We also offer a small daily allowance to cover for daily expenses and an electric motorbike (if you are comfortable with it).

  Was noch ...

  The organization is supported by a long term expert who helps in the organizational development, technical training and strategy development. We also hosted two Swedish MBA students who did research on our organization and the impact we have on the customers and their economic situation. Since September 2019 our language training program was supported by 4 teachers already. The most recent teachers being Rebecca and Stephen who stayed with us from January 2020 and throughout the COVID-19 lock down until August 2021. After their departure they continued distance learning until May 2022 and restarted earlier in 2023 for a small number of staff.
  
  There is plenty of nature to see in Lao and all visitors so far have enjoyed the country and its people.
  
  As Laos opened the borders again in 2022 we are looking into offering in-house English courses again later in 2023.
