  Our project - self-sufficient nature-pure agriculture on 3 ha

  Location - central Portugal near Penamacor
  
  Philosophy - vegetarian & vegan, spiritual but not religious,
  
  We love - all kinds of music, art, meditation, yoga etc.
  
  Nutrition - Vegan and vegetarian food

  Realisation - chemical-free and in compliance with the natural cycle
  
  Energy - self-sufficient in work and implementation

  Safeguarding - a foundation to protection & preservation
  
  
  We Andrea and Gopi both come from Austria, where we have already implemented a project in which we used everything that others threw away to create a large garden with much different plants and living space for insects and animals. We broke it all up and sold it, to start the project here in Portugal 6 years ago.
  
  Every day we continue to realize our vision of creating and expanding an oasis of well-being. In the meantime, we have created a place that is open to life in order to bring plants, animals and people back into harmony! Due to our sustainability aspect, we have transported several containers full of used materials, here from Austria during this time. With these materials, we have realized the construction and expansion and are always working on creating something new. A conscious, economical use of all resources is very important to us.
  
  In order to further expand the dream of our "island of life", we need your help and invite you to participate in our project in Portugal / Penamacor and to help us realize our vision!
  
  The land is about 3 hectares and in the last 6 years, with the help of volunteers, friends and helpers, the following has been realized and implemented: 3 wells built, 3 stone house ruins (completely renovated, only interior work to be completed), bathhouse (only interior work to be completed), running water, electricity, outdoor kitchen, indoor kitchen (to be completed), sauna, workshop, storage, swimming pond, outdoor pool & shower and much more.
  
  We live here with the following animals: 4 dogs, 4-5 cats, currently 5 sheep and 2 horses.
  
  Our extensive garden has: Vines, many different trees (such as olives, apple, pear, fig, almond, khaki), 2 greenhouses (the third is currently under construction), vegetable garden, herb garden and much more.
  
  We have now put a few new photos online to show you what we have created with a lot of support.
  
  We would also like to thank to all the volunteers, friends and energetic helpers who made it possible for us, to realize and make this all happened.

  Enjoying simple life on a peaceful, beautiful piece of land, cooking, healthy eating, slow down life, crafting, living out art, learning from each other and we love to have in-depth discussions about awareness and life itself.
  
  Other topics that are very important to us: throwaway society, healing through nature and common strength, let nature be nature again, garbage health problems, promote free clean energy, radiation sources and much more
  
  The oasis of encounter would offer space for people who are changing, develop together and exchange ideas. Together we can make a difference, common development of consciousness and self-sustaining life

  Arbeit

  * Green the land, making an oasis with a big variety of different plants
  
  * We have already started to make a vegetable garden outside and inside a greenhouse, raising cuttings from various berry bushes and much more
  
  * At the moment we are renovating the three houses completely down to the foundations. Roofing, floor, kitchen , relaxation corner, and a second floor for sleeping.

  Here are some ideas we would like to implement in the near future:
  
  * creating a big garden with various flower islands, trees, shrubs and herbs
  * Irrigation System (in progress..)
  * Building accommodation for our sheeps and horses
  * Natural, alternative, simple homes such as a earthship or so...
  * Energy - Biomeiler
  
  
  Gopi can do everything a bit, like an all-rounder. You do not need any specific skills, if you have any its great, but for us it is a great pleasure if you have an open mind, enjoy working and be energetic

  Unterkunft

  * 1 small and 1 normal size Caravan. If you need, we have also blankets and pillows for a good sleep.
  
  * If you bring your own mobile home or caravan we have a lot of space for them.
  
  We offer:
  * outdoor kitchen (VEGAN). We provide 3 meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner
  
  * Bathroom is under construction. Till we have finished, we make bucket shower :-) We have an outdoor bathtube under an olive tree with a boiler for hot water for taking a bath (only in winter). Please bring only natural products.
  
  * compost (standing) toilet
  
  * little pool to refresh during the hot months of year
  
  * Sauna (just for the cold months ;-)

  * Old town of Penamacor with various small cafes, restaurants and shops (about 45 minutes to the top of the old town where you find nice viewing points over the surrounding area)
  * Large managed reservoir for swimming (during the summer months)
  * Sightseeing: Monsanto (about 30 km from us), Serra da Estrela (about 60km from us)
  * Next biggest City: Castelo Branco (about 50km from us)
