  We are a small eco-friendly guesthouse located about a 20-minute walk from Paraty's historic center, in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded by nature.
  
  The project is part of CASA — Connection, Learning, Synergy and Hospitality, with a focus on sustainability, simple living, practical learning and creating meaningful exchanges.
  
  This is neither a party hostel nor a place with lots of volunteers. We usually host one volunteer at a time, for a calmer, more personal and welcoming atmosphere — ideal for people looking for contact with nature and a more relaxed pace of life. Couples may be considered.
  
  Our guesthouse has 3 bungalows and is constantly evolving. There are always projects, improvements and things to learn — and we welcome people who can contribute in different ways.
  
  Special opportunity: December to February
  
  15 December to 15 February is our busiest period of the year, and we are particularly looking for someone who can stay for this entire period.
  
  During summer the city is vibrant, busy and full of things happening, while accommodation becomes expensive and difficult to find. For the right person, this is a great opportunity to experience Paraty during the high season, while being part of a small project rather than simply visiting as a tourist.
  
  Outside this period, we can also consider shorter stays, depending on the project and the person's skills.
  
  We have several ecological systems and practices, including:
  * Solar power
  * Green roof
  * BET wastewater treatment system
  * Composting and recycling
  * Natural cleaning products
  * Sustainable gardening and maintenance
  
  Longer stays
  For people staying for longer periods, we may be able to offer a small additional contribution towards expenses, after an initial period of evaluation and depending on the length of the stay and the person's contribution to the project. The exchange is not a salary or employment, so volunteers need to have their own financial resources to support themselves during their stay. This is particularly suitable for people who already work online or have another source of income.
  
  For digital/creative projects, volunteers should also have their own laptop and phone/camera needed for the activities.
  
  Who we're looking for
  We value people who are:
  -Responsible, independent, and proactive, with a sincere desire to contribute to making our space better. You should be respectful and communicative and comfortable working with others, with practical tasks and a simple lifestyle.
  
  Different skills are welcome. You might be a builder, carpenter, gardener, photographer, designer, marketer, digital nomad, systems person — or simply someone who enjoys making things happen.
  
  What matters most is that you bring something you are good at, are willing to help with the practical reality of a small guesthouse, and are interested in being part of the project.   There are opportunities to learn through practical experience about:
  Running an eco-friendly guesthouse, including sustainability and permaculture, gardening, waste management, practical solutions and DIY projects
  
  Staying with us is an opportunity to experience the daily life of a small eco-lodge and connect with nature and a more intentional way of living.
  
  I have two Permaculture Design Certificates (PDCs) and a Master’s degree in Agroecology. When time allows, I enjoy sharing knowledge and involving volunteers in small projects around the property.
  
  Many volunteers especially value the chance to slow down, reconnect with nature and experience a quieter, more independent way of life. This is a place for learning through everyday life and experiencing, beyond the usual tourist perspective.

  The exchange is approximately 25 hours per week, depending on the period and the type of contribution, with schedules organized according to the needs of the house.

  Unterkunft

  The volunteer accommodation is a simple, quiet studio shared with a male team member, with its own kitchen and bathroom.
  We normally have only one volunteer at a time.
  
  Included:
  * Accommodation, utilities and internet
  * 1 meal per day (lunch)
  * Use of laundry facilities
  * Use of a bicycle when it is not being used by guests
  
  The accommodation is simple, so this experience is best suited to someone comfortable with a quieter, uncomplicated lifestyle and shared living.

  Was noch ...

  We are located in the neighborhood of Caboré. Nearby there are bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants. We have bikes available for use without charge, although you are responsible for care of the bikes while you are using them. We also have a washing machine available for your use and good wifi.

  Internet in Paraty is always a bit shaky, but we have a decent company for online work. Large volume of conference calls , however, may be difficult and the guests will always have priority for using the internet.
