She built a door on my greenhouse that had blown off and also a step that needed replacing all on her own and did a job that would make any carpenter proud! I will surely miss her when she moves on and feel so very blessed to have had the opportunity to share my home with her.

I learned lot’s of things in there. Also ate a lot of berries and tasted a lot of products made with berries, an amazing way of getting to know local

… read more hikes to find and the beach is great for evening walks and exploring rock-pools. We miss all the animals, not least of all the two guardians of the farm Vicky and Simba as well as our little rat-catcher, Precious! We have learned such much during our stay, from making the most delicious bread to helping Gypsy the goat give birth! We have so many memories to look bacl on. My chores were feeding the chickens, collecting and washing the eggs, cleaning and painting the chicken house, planting, helping with the cookies and combucha and helping at the farmers market which was really fun and good experiences. They have 2 beautiful dogs, Vicky and Simba. Vicky guided me and helped me bringing the chickens back if one escaped. I enjoyed to take Simba for a walk, he is still a puppy and has a lot of energy. Both are funny to watch and happy dogs. I liked Marylynns company very much, she is a good story teller and I learned a lot about the farm life. We have just left Haida Gwaii where we were lucky enough to stay with MaryLynn and her family. MaryLynn is in our opinion the wonder woman of Haida Gwaii! Even though she works during the week, prepares and sells her produce at the weekend, looks after the animals and her family, she somehow still finds the time to teach the workawayers wwoofers
… read more all the skills she has learnt herself. We learnt how to make wine, jelly, cheese, yoghurt, bread and attempted goat milking, these are just a few of the many things that happen at st marys spring estate. Thanks also to Brendan who kept us entertained and to Peter (the Viking) who has a great sense of humour and always keen for a chat! We were also happy to have got to have met baby deer and of course vickie. We would definitely recommend this place for other workawayers. MaryLynn and Brendan are very grateful for the work that you will do and are also very happy to recommend hikes and other interesting things to see and do on this beautiful island.
