Beschreibung
We are a vacation rental property located in MONTEVERDE, Costa Rica. As we get closer to the travel season of 2024 / 2025 we will be confirming workaway staff to help out.

Our location is ideal for anyone looking to get closer to nature, we are in a very diverse area in the mountains of Costa Rica. Daily work is based on arrivals and departures from the rental homes, we ask to have support in housekeeping, cleaning, welcoming guests and basic chores. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We have two dogs and two cats, person must be good with animals. Basic care, feeding them, walking them and providing time needed. Our homes are located in the cloud forest, having guests from all over the world means that we need to always have them be happy. Ideal person would be able to stay at least 1 month or for an extended time.

We have two wonderful dogs and a very beautiful cat, duties will be related to walking, feeding and keeping the daily life of our pets in a stable manner. They are very well behaved, but all pets need attention, ours are no different. On your time off there are many things to do in Monteverde, hiking, art, Music, explore, community activities. The buses run from corner to corner in this area and it is very easy to get around with very little bus fare. People from all over the world come to our location to explore and take in this unique community that is not found anywhere else in Costa Rica. The largest private reserve in the country is here, as when you include the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, The Childrens Eternal Rain Forest, Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, Curi Cancha and some others, it makes a large protected area of forest, over 30,000 thousand Hectares are protected, this area is very diverse, it offers lots to see and lots to learn.

Living here is a highlight, the culure the art, the conservation efforts, the musicians, the lifestyle. There is lots to be thankful for spending time in Monteverde. The stars, the Rainbows, the People the Wildlife and we can go on and on about the location. If you love nature, art, music and want to experience a true earthy feel - here we are.

Larry and Oscar were great hosts! We really enjoyed our time in Monteverde. The location itself is beautiful and serene. During your time in Monteverde you're almost guaranteed to see spectacular wildlife. The town and community are friendly and welcoming. Larry was traveling abroad while we looked after his four rental units and did some yard… read more work and side projects for his dad (Oscar). We enjoyed the freedom of not being micromanaged but the direction and guidance if we needed it. Larry is a chill guy yet super professional and knows the tourism industry well. He has a lot of cool pro tips if you're looking to go into the business one day. The lodging we had at Larry's was also great, especially compared to what some other Workaway places offer. We had a little apartment style lodging. Included a small kitchen, bedroom and our own toilet and shower. Hot water, gas burner and refrigerator. Washer and drying line located behind the lodging. A short walk into town only 15 - 25 minutes depending on where you're going. We enjoyed being outside of town but close enough to walk into town to buy groceries or go to the local restaurants and shops. Marlene, one of the staff members, was on location frequently to handle most of the unit cleaning. She is super friendly and was great to practice our Spanish with. Larry and Oscar also have a dog and he is just the cutest thing. We enjoyed taking him on daily walks through the trails located behind the property. Our duties ranged from checking in guests to their rental units. Giving them information on activities nearby. Booking their tours, arranging transportation and taxis for guests. Sometimes we would clean the rooms after guests left and other times we would just need to tidy up a room if it had been a few days since anyone had stayed in a unit, before a new guest checked-in. We also did weeding, gardening, mowing, painting and other various projects around the property. The guests are normally super friendly and appreciative of all the information you give them. Sometimes we even had dinner or watched World Cup soccer games in town with them if they wanted to join us. The guests are absolutely part of the positives of this Workaway. Not only are Larry, Oscar, Marlene, and the dog all great but so are the rental guests! My boyfriend and I definitely recommend this Workaway whole heatedly. Oscar and Larry also supported us at the very end when my partner had a bit of a health scare. We are forever grateful to them both. They have a home to visit wherever we end up in the future. Xx
