My name is Dorcas. I'm married with three biological children and seven adopted ones. I'm an ECDE (early childhood development education) teacher. I work with the County Government of Homa-Bay in Kenya.
My husband is a Christian religious leader serving as a department director in their church organization. We live in a permanent room where we also accommodate our esteemed volunteers. We also have two more separate rooms for additional guests. Within the compound is shallow well from which we draw clean water. We also have a steady power supply (electricity and standby generator) and a salon car for private use.
Our compound is well fenced with barbed wires. We don't live in a town, but accessible to a town center which is only two kilometers away and can be accessed by use of the car and public service motorcycle. The place is surrounded by natural vegetation and other homes. Within the compound is the ever presence of the learning pupils and their teachers. Here, you will also find our orchard full of bananas, young mango trees, vegetables, nappier grass. You will also see our tree nursery pool.
Since 2003 I've been alongside my husband doing charity activities aimed at creating hope and happiness in them that know not what hope and happiness looks like. Since then we've so far engaged in soliciting cloths, food, blankets, books, pens and money to help meet the very urgent basic needs of widows, orphans and vulnerable children.

We have so far received volunteers from as far as Australia, Italy, Spain and Guatamala.
Personally I've purposed to live for others and above all, for the vulnerable children (especially orphans and HIV/AIDS victims), sharing 80% of what I have for this cause.
Volunteers are free to visit places of choice during their time off and with prior arrangement we can volunteer transport for a distance not more than 40 kilometers.
