Hi, I’m Ermanno. I live on my family’s rural property in South Sardinia, about 1 km from the beach.

I host Workawayers only during the off-season. During any stay arranged here, there are no paying guests/visitors on the property, and helpers will never be asked to help with paying guests/visitors or anything related to them.

My current project is a gentle “before/after” improvement of the outdoor areas: making the space tidier and more functional, keeping paths clear, reducing weeds naturally (mulching), starting small planting areas (flowers/herbs/trees), and doing simple DIY upgrades that make the place feel cared for.

This is designed for remote workers, people having career break, or in transit from one job to another.

The spirit of the stay is cultural exchange: we share meals, stories, and everyday life, practise Italian/English, and keep a calm rhythm close to nature.

Travellers will experience an authentic side of Sardinia that most tourists don’t see: slow rural life close to nature, local food, and the rhythm of days shaped by weather and the seasons. This is a home-based cultural exchange where we share meals, conversations, and daily routines, not a business environment.
    What you can learn here:
Simple sustainable living habits: reducing waste, composting basics, water-wise gardening, and low-impact ways to care for outdoor spaces
Practical Mediterranean plant care: mulching for weed control, seasonal planting, basic seed trays and small transplants
Italian/Sardinian culture through food: cooking together, local ingredients, traditions, and daily life stories
Language exchange: Italian and English (and I’m happy to practice any other language you bring)
Community skills: collaborating respectfully, communicating clearly, and enjoying a calm, shared household
In return, I love learning from travellers too — their recipes, perspectives, creative ideas, and the small habits they’ve learned from other places. The goal is to create a positive shared experience where everyone leaves with new knowledge, new friendships, and a deeper connection to nature and culture.

In the spirit of genuine cultural exchange, we provide an exceptional stay: spacious, luxurious rooms (valued at €200+ per night in high season), plus all homemade meals throughout the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner — think fresh Sardinian dishes, garden-picked ingredients, seafood, local wine, and joyful shared cooking sessions). In return, we gently ask for about 4–5 hours of light, pleasant help on most days (with flexible days off for beach swims, island adventures, relaxing, or your own explorations).
The help centers on simple, everyday care for our garden and home as part of living together:

Gentle gardening — watering, weeding, planting flowers/herbs, harvesting seasonal veggies/fruit, tending to plants in a peaceful outdoor setting.
Fun Painting, arts/crafts on removable surfaces (e.g., signs, wooden boards, planters)
Helping keep shared areas welcoming — light tidying, organizing outdoor spaces, small everyday touches to maintain the home's charm.
Joining in daily shared life — sometimes preparing meals together, setting the table, chatting while working, or helping with whatever flows naturally in the moment.

Staying here offers a slower, more local experience of rural Sardinia: shared meals at home, seasonal routines shaped by weather and daylight, and time outdoors close to the sea and countryside. This is not a hotel setting—it’s a home-based exchange where everyday life (cooking, planning tasks, chatting, learning) is as important as the practical help.

    You can learn and practise:

Low-impact gardening basics: mulching for weed control, watering habits, seasonal planting, and simple plant care.
Sustainable living habits: reducing waste, basic composting, and making practical use of natural materials.
DIY confidence (beginner-friendly): planning small tasks, organising tools/materials, and working step-by-step for visible progress.
Food and culture: Sardinian/Italian home cooking, ingredients, and traditions through shared meals and conversation.
Language exchange: Italian and English in a natural daily-life context.
It’s always mutual: I enjoy learning from helpers too—recipes, ideas, cultural perspectives, and practical tips you’ve picked up elsewhere.

No prior experience or special skills needed — just enthusiasm, a helpful spirit, and enjoyment of nature and good company. We take care of anything heavier or more technical ourselves. The rhythm is balanced: a bit of contribution in the mornings or early afternoons, then plenty of free time to enjoy Sardegna's beaches, hikes, villages, or just the serenity here.

If you love slow-paced, heartfelt Sardegna — delicious food, meaningful chats, nature, and feeling at home with a family — come join us! Solo travellers, couples, or small groups welcome (with private, comfy spaces available).
Share a bit about yourself, what draws you to Sardegna, interests you'd like to exchange or learn, and how you see our time flowing together.

    Accommodation and food:
You’ll be staying in a cozy and well-equipped house with three bedrooms, each with a double bed, ensuite bathroom, air conditioning, and even a TV (though we try to keep nights restful and mornings productive!).
The house has a shared kitchen, and we all help to keep it clean and organized. The space is normally rented out in summer, so please treat it with care and respect – if something breaks, you’ll be responsible for replacing it.
There’s Wi-Fi throughout the house, and everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided: shampoo, shower gel, blankets, and towels.
    Food:
Breakfast: Coffee, croissants, juice, and eggs in fridge for workawayer.
Lunch on the house : 80% pasta, but always a different recipe – you’re in Italy after all!
Dinner: Up to you! Either you purchase your own or we eat what's on the menu, but it’s flexible.
Weekends: BBQ time, Pizza Time – we cook, relax, and enjoy the outdoors together.
I follow a high-protein diet, but we’ll always try to use fresh, local ingredients and adapt to your preferences when possible (vegetarian, etc.).

    Animals:
You’ll be sharing the space with some lovely animal friends:
Roxie, my sweet and sociable companion dog
Bianca, a rescue and gentle guard dog
Sometimes Ben (another friendly visitor) and a cat drop by – they love affection!
    Lifestyle & extras:
If someone is a yoga teacher, we’d love to start the mornings with a session together!
We can also go to the gym together if you're up for it.
The weather is usually perfect, but every room has air conditioning just in case.
This is a place for people who enjoy nature, creativity, animals, and simple, joyful living. It’s not a hotel – it’s a shared experience where everyone brings something special.

Free time, local sights & transport (revised – copy/paste)
Time off / things to do:
South Sardinia is full of nature and quiet beauty. In your free time you can enjoy nearby beaches (about 1 km away), coastal walks, small villages, local markets, and historical sites. If you surf, there are spots in the area (bring your gear). Depending on weather and everyone’s energy, we sometimes do group hikes along the coast or in the hills. You can also simply rest at home, read, write, do yoga, or enjoy the garden.
    Transport & getting around:
We are in a rural area and public transport is limited, especially outside summer. I have a 4-seater car and can sometimes help with supply runs and short local outings, but helpers should also be comfortable with a quiet, countryside location. Having your own car/scooter is a big plus for independence. Parking is available on the property.
    House vibe / important notes:
This is a calm, nature-based home environment (not a party place). Respect for the house, shared spaces and animals is essential. We keep common areas clean and we prefer relaxed evenings and early mornings. Please treat the home with care — if anything gets accidentally damaged, we’ll talk about it and handle it fairly.

There is stable Wi-Fi throughout the house, so if you’re working remotely, you’ll be able to manage light work (emails, writing, calls, etc.) without problems. Just keep in mind that we’ll be doing some outdoor activity during the day, so the experience is best suited to those who can either work part-time or have flexible hours.

If you're traveling with your camper or van, you're more than welcome! There’s plenty of flat, safe parking space on the land. You’ll still be invited to join meals and daily activities, and when needed, you can use the space and kitchen inside the main house. There’s also a camper site nearby, and if necessary, we can ask to use their facilities (like water, waste disposal, etc.).

I live with two wonderful dogs: – Roxie, my loyal companion, who can be a bit territorial and may try to show dominance (especially at the beginning) – Bianca, a sweet and calm rescue dog who acts as our gentle guardian They’re both used to guests, but animals here must respect their space. If you'd like to bring your own dog or cat, let’s discuss it first. Ideally, pets should be: Non-aggressive and well-socialized Medium-sized or smaller Reasonably obedient, since the land is large, full of smells, and not fenced – if your dog tends to run off, it could be tricky. There’s plenty of room to explore, so curious but calm pets will enjoy the space – just keep safety and harmony in mind.
