  Welcome to our shelter for stray dogs in Greece! Our mission is to provide a better life for homeless dogs and give them the opportunity to find a loving home. To achieve this, we need the support of dedicated volunteers who share our passion for animal welfare.
  
  The dog shelter is located in the Pelion Mountains just outside the Greek village of Argalasti, surrounded by beautiful nature, mountains and the sea.
  
  As a volunteer, you will take on a variety of tasks to ensure the well-being of our dogs. Your main duties will include daily care, such as feeding, cleaning the kennels, and taking the dogs for walks. Many of our dogs have never known a proper home, so training and socialisation play a key role in preparing them for successful adoption. Your help in taking photos and videos for our adoption platforms is also crucial in giving these dogs the best chance of finding a new home.
  
  In addition, working at the shelter involves general maintenance and repair tasks. Keeping the facility in good condition is essential to provide a safe and clean environment for our dogs. We especially appreciate volunteers with practical skills who can assist with minor repairs and upkeep.
  
  Accommodation is provided in a flat in the nearest village (Argalasti), which is only a short walk from the shelter. Here, you’ll have the chance to experience Greek culture and hospitality, and explore the beautiful surroundings in your free time.

  Volunteers at our dog shelter will benefit from a rich cultural exchange and gain valuable experiences.   Your main tasks will include general dog care, such as feeding, grooming, and ensuring their wellbeing. You'll also take the dogs for regular walks and assist in their training to prepare them for adoption. Additionally, we need help with shelter maintenance, including repairs and upkeep. Your creative skills are also valuable—taking photos, writing descriptions, and helping with rehoming efforts are key parts of our mission to find loving homes for these dogs.

  Unterkunft

  The accommodation is a traditional Greek village house with a very casual and friendly style. The house has three bedrooms, a large living room, a kitchen and a wood stove. You might have other roommates and share the common areas.
  
  We will provide basic food supplies. The house is located in the village of Argalasti, where there is a supermarket, a pharmacy, many tavernas, cafés and a weekly market. You can take the bus to the next town (Volos) or to the other neighbouring villages.
