Hello,
We are a couple with two cats, and we have built a wooden cabin in our garden that will be your welcome space. We enjoy tinkering with recycled materials.
I am a teacher (51 years old) and Philippe is an actor (65 years old) and director. I would like to lighten the load of a very intense year of my teaching work, and I am looking for a traveler:
- who is skilled and, above all, fast, and structured in manual tasks (who already knows how to tinker and make small things out of cardboard, cut, measure, laminate, and cook quickly).
- one
- who has a relatively good command of French (because I would be too tired having to communicate in English).
- who has a sense of initiative (and doesn't ask how to proceed at each step because, honestly, I don't have the time; I'm really looking for someone who can help me).
- who is dynamic and cheerful because good humor is contagious and essential.
- who is interested in my field: teaching children with significant learning difficulties.
- Graphic design skills are a plus, and mastery of tools like Canva, etc., are a real plus!!!
We live in a lovely apartment with a sea view in Marseille (near L'Estaque)! Our neighborhood is very pleasant but a bit far from the center (it takes 45 minutes by bus and metro, and the network is no longer served in the evening). However, it is close to the sea and a beautiful cove. There are many initiatives (arthouse cinemas, small concerts, small shops). If you're looking to experience the vibrant life of downtown Marseille, So, this isn't the best option... We can lend you an electric bike for easy travel.

Nous sommes un couple avec deux chats et nous avons construit une cabane en bois dans notre jardin qui sera votre lieux d'accueil. Nous aimons bricoler avec des matériaux de récupération.
Je suis enseignante (51 ans) et Philippe est comédien (65 ans) , metteur en sce. J'aimerais pouvoir alléger une année très intense dans mon travail d'enseignante et je recherche un voyageur ou une voyageuse :
- qui est habile et, surtout, rapide , structuré dans les tâches manuelles (qui sait déjà bricoler et fabriquer de petites choses en carton, découper, mesurer, plastifier, cuisiner rapidement).

- qui maitrise relativement bien la langue française (car je serais trop fatiguée de devoir communiquer en anglais).
- qui a le sens de l'initiative (et ne demande pas comment il doit procéder a chaque étape car je n'ai honnêtement pas le temps , je cherche vraiment quelqu'un qui peut m'aider.
- Qui est dynamique, souriant-e car la bonne humeur est contagieuse et essentielle.
-qui est intéressé par mon domaine : l'enseignement à des enfants en grandes difficultés scolaires.
- Des compétences en graphisme sont un et la maîtrise d'outils comme Canva, etc... Sont un vrai plus !!!
Nous vivons dans un chouette appartement avec vue sur mer à Marseille (près de L'Estaque) ! Notre quartier est très sympathique mais un peu loin du centre (il faut compter 45 minutes en transport bus et métro et le réseau n'est plus desservi le soir). Par contre, il est proche de la mer, d'une très belle calanques. Il y a beaucoup d'initiatives (cinéma d'art et d'essais, petits concerts, petits commerces). Si vous cherchez à vivre la vie trépidante du centre marseillais, ce n'est donc pas le bon plan... On peut vous prêter un vélo électrique pour vous promener facilement.

I am a specialist teacher in public school for children with serious learning difficulties and Philippe is the director of a theatre company in Marseille. We like to discuss all sorts of subjects. I am also an amateur musician (percussion and violin). We are used to backpacking and are very open to differences!

Je suis enseignante spécialisée à l'école publique pour des enfants en grande difficulté scolaire et Philippe est directeur d'une compagnie de théâtre à Marseille. I would like to be able to lighten a very intense year in my teaching job and I am looking for a traveler who has a relatively good command of the French language (because I would be too tired to have to communicate in English), has computer office skills and is interested in my field: teaching children with serious learning difficulties in order to delegate, exchange and share some work (organization, help with the creation of educational tools) and also to help us a little with everyday life (small errands, cooking, etc.). I would preferably like a traveler who already has a little experience in the world of work or a student who is good at using computers and can show initiative and autonomy in everyday life.
J'aimerais pouvoir alléger une année très intense dans mon travail d'enseignante et je recherche un voyageur ou une voyageuse qui maitrise relativement bien la langue française (car je serais trop fatiguée de devoir communiquer en anglais), possède des compétences en bureautique informatique et est intéressé par mon domaine : l'enseignement à des enfants en grandes difficultés scolaires afin de déléguer, d'échanger et de partager quelques travaux (organisation, aide à la réalisation d'outils pédagogiques) et aussi pour nous aider un peu sur le quotidien (petites courses, cuisiner..). J'aimerais de préférence un voyageur qui a déjà une petite expérience du monde du travail ou bien un étudiant maîtrise bien l'outil informatique et peut faire preuve d'initiative et d'autonomie dans la vie quotidienne.

Your room is located in the fully insulated 12 square meter wooden garden cabin, equipped with a wood-burning stove. The garden also provides access to a dry toilet, a summer kitchen (with a gas stove, oven, and small refrigerator), and an outdoor shower (weather permitting). It offers independence (however, there is no Wi-Fi in the cabin).
You also have access to the apartment's amenities (bathroom, living room, kitchen), but our apartment is small, and we prefer, whenever possible, that your belongings and the toilets be used in the garden. We are often at work, which allows for quiet, solitary moments in the apartment.
However, we are a bit of a stickler: we don't leave our belongings lying around in the apartment.
All food is provided; we are not required to eat together all the time. Guests must be able to cook for themselves or participate in preparing the shared meal.

Votre chambre se situe dans la cabane en bois du jardin, tout isolée qui fait 12 m carré, équipée d'un poelle à bois. Le jardin donne aussi accès à une toilette sèche, une cuisine d'été (avec gazinière, four, petit frigo) et douche extérieure (quand le temps le permet). Il offre une indépendance (par contre, pas de wifi dans la cabane ).
Vous avez aussi accès aux commodités de l'appartement (salle de bain, salon, cuisine ) mais notre appartement est petit et nous préférons, autant que possible que vos affaires et les toilettes soient utilisées au jardin. Nous sommes souvent sur notre lieu de travail, ce qui laisse l'opportunité de vivre des moments tranquilles et de solitude dans l'appartement.
Par contre, nous sommes un peu maniaques : dans l'appartement, on ne laisse pas trainer ses affaires derrière soi.
Tout ce qui concerne la nourriture est offert , nous ne sommes pas obligés de manger ensemble tout le temps. Le voyageur doit pouvoir cuisiner pour lui-même ou participer a l'élaboration du repas collectif.

We live near L'Estaque, the sea (Corbières beach) and the Côte Bleue nature reserve which is magnificent in spring. We can lend an electric bike for getting around! I am part of a very friendly aqua gym group in the open sea. Philippe has his theatre company close to the house, there is an art house cinema. Otherwise, life at home, with its beautiful view and garden, is ideal for someone who needs to settle down in a harmonious place to read, think about what's next...

Nous habitons près de L'Estaque, de la mer (plage de Corbières) ainsi que de la réserve naturelle de la côte bleue qui est magnifique au printemps. On peut prêter un vélo électrique pour les déplacements ! Je fais partie d'un groupe d'aqua gym en pleine mer très amical. Philippe a sa compagnie de théâtre proche de la maison, il y a un cinéma d'art et d'essais. Sinon, la vie à la maison, avec sa belle vue et son jardin, est idéale pour qulequ'un qui a besoin de se poser dans un lieu harmonieux pour lire, réfléchir à la suite...

During the day, you have a good internet connection in the apartment. There are several desks because I like to change places when I work! La journée, vous disposez d'une bonne connexion internet dans l'appartement. Il y a plusieurs bureaux car j'aime changer de place quand je travaille !
