Hello :)
My name is Linda, I am 46 years old. I am married to Bjørn-Arvid, who is 40 years old. Together we have the girls Julianne who is 14 years old and Sunniva who is 12 years old.
We live in Laukvik, a small village in Lofoten. We are home-loving people, Bjørn-Arvid is a captain, so he works at sea for 4 weeks, and is at home for 4 weeks.
When he is at home, we want to be at home and do things around the house, the garden and at the cabin.
And when he's at sea, I need some extra hands.
Winter has come to Laukvik. and I have slowly started to plan what I can offer next spring and summer. Things to do depend a lot on both the weather and the season, but before May, when the eldest girl in the house has her confirmation, there will be some cleaning inside the house as well as some outside. Inside, I have the hallway floor that I would like to have finished, it needs to be sanded and oiled... and framing on the walls that needs to be installed.
The garage must also be cleaned, as soon as it is empty of potatoes and carrots. Because the party will be there in May.
Outside there are several berry bushes, a raspberry forest and a small strawberry field that needs care..
I also have plans to build one more guest house, as the one I built in 22/23 has been a success among the workawayers.
Throughout the summer, things also need to be done at the cabin, cleaning up the water's edge by the sea, the fence on the balcony must be completed, and the outside toilet must be painted. Would like to have made some new shelves in the shed as well. The boathouses will also get one last coat of paint and be cleaned as soon as the boats are on the water.
So what can we offer you as workawayers in freetime?
Nice mountain walks, walks in the forest and on the beach. A relaxed environment, where we go to great lengths to ensure that our guests have a great experience. Some days are probably a bit hectic, but we'll make up for it. We can't promise sunshine on the days you're here, but we can promise you beautiful and wild nature. What experiences you are left with is very much up to you.
The possibilities are many, feel free to check out Lofoten on the internet, maybe there is something you really want to experience. A trip from my place all the way to Å takes 2 hours.
We have now had 43 young people visit our home and it has been an incredibly pleasant experience to get to know them all. I therefore want to continue as a host, come up with big and small projects around the house, and at the same time show what Lofoten can offer..
Of course, I hold breakfast, lunch and dinner, allergies are no problem. but you have to put up with cats. we also keep the work clothes you need.
During the summer I now have the opportunity to have 2x2 guests, as I have converted the greenhouse into a guest house. Feel free to message me for more detailed information or if you have any questions
