In every way they are a TOP host.
As people, with the food, with the help, with everything you can learn, with the location of their house, and with the incredible experience you live with them. For me, taking care of Jalow and Lenna was a privilege, and this experience has filled my heart with love and gratitude.

Jordi and Amy are both exceptionally kind and thoughtful people, they both went out of their way to make me feel at home and included (for example by hosting a "pizza party" a few days after my arrival).
Amy and Jordi are very intentional parents, their top priority is their children’s wellbeing and happiness which they invest a lot of time and
… read more effort in. This was truly a beautiful thing to witness firsthand and gave me a newfound appreciation for my own parents as well.
Being a conscious and present parent is hard work but Amy and Jordi are doing a great job at it! I really hope to be a bit like them when it will be my time to be a parent.
The children Jalom (5) and Linne (3) are very sweet, kind and affectionate. They are happy and peaceful children who it’s a pleasure to play with and look after. We spent a lot of time doing art projects of all sorts and being outside.
The ex-monastery they live in is a beautiful place with "secret garden" vibes, a veggie patch, a wood-working shed, chickens… and there is a very friendly and caring atmosphere among all the neighbours.
The area they live in is very quiet and peaceful but the next (bigger) town is only ten minutes away by bike, and from there all the major cities in the Netherlands (and some in Belgium or Germany) are easily reachable by train or flixbus.
The room I slept in was VERY spacious and comfortable, and the meals we ate together were delicious (Jordi is a great cook and food enthusiast, especially in regards to bread baking and plant based cooking).
Both Amy and Jordi have been Workawayers themselves so they have also experienced being "on the other side". This meant that they always made sure I was comfortable and took time off to rest, as well as communicating easily and honestly about everything.
I will always treasure the deep conversations we had and would love to meet all four of them again in the future.

His communication skills are very well developed as he knows how to express himself and can communicate his needs. He's quite mature for his age, and takes responsibility. Thinks about his life, his future and takes care of his health. The children really felt heartbroken when he left, as do we. Everyone should get to meet him! Amy and Jordi truly have exceeded my expectations for host parents. They were patient and understanding, always making sure that I felt comfortable and didn’t lack anything and they are overall lovely people to stay with. I’m really gonna miss those interesting conversations about life at the dinner table.
The accommodation was super comfortable. My room was big and even provided my own small kitchen space. We would often cook or bake together, exploring and experimenting with new meals (which were always very delicious), often with an authentic home grown vegetables from the garden.
I am truly grateful for this experience and for the kindness of my host parents. Even if it was just for a short while, I felt like a part of this small family and I wish you all the very very best. Thank you for everything, I learned a lot and I’m excited to see how your life and the kids will develop.
