  Beschreibung

  Hi! We are three siblings and are renovating the house of our parents, which is located in the beautiful Austrian Alps in Eastern Tyrol. In the summer we offer lunch to hikers in a cabin in the mountains. I, Gabi, work in a different city as a nurse. My sisters Brigitta and Monika are both retired. We spend a lot of our time in Hopfgarten to make new apartments inside of the old house and to help our brother, who runs a farm which also belongs to the house. For us it is important to use the resources that are already here, and thus treat nature with respect. We are open for an exchange with people from foreign countries and are looking forward to getting to know different cultures.

  You can learn about gardening, wood chopping, how to mow with a scythe and make hay, or how to make bread. If you're learning German, we are happy to help, although our dialect can be a bit difficult. ;)

  Arbeit

  There is always a lot to do in and around the house, in spring/Summer we appreciate help in the garden, in the forest or in the fields where we often need help with the haymaking. We are also happy about Workawayers that have experience with/want to do DIY and building projects and help us renovating the house.

  Unterkunft

  In the house there is a flat where you can live during your stay, with a shared bathroom. We will all eat and cook together most of the time.

  Hopfgarten is a small village in a quiet and natural part of Tyrol. In our area you can hike in the mountains, go biking or visit Lienz, the closest city (25km). From our place you can also make a short trip to italy, since it is not that far. It is quite easy to reach us by train and bus.
