Beschreibung
We fell in love with this land in 2023 mostly because of the epic waterfall. There are two rivers running through the 8 hectares with multiple private swimming spots to choose from. We are in a beautiful valley with amazing views, and you can always hear the sound of the water helping to calm your nervous system. It is mostly pretty wild nature, offering everyone who steps foot on the land a deep connection to nature. We love so much about Portugal as a country and this area specifically São Pedro do Sul, also known as Montañas Magicas - the mountains that really do feel very magical 🧚🏻 ✨
We are Annabelle, 33 🇬🇧 and Truman, 39 🇺🇸 & our latest addition baby Æilyara, 1 year. We met in Costa Rica as digital nomads, and continued travelling together through Central and South America, as well as Europe and the US looking for our place to call home. Annabelle is an artist and has been teaching yoga for over 10 years. She also coaches women online, helping them to experience relationships filled with love, passion and deep fulfilment. Truman is a Scientist, and is currently working on his passion project which is an exciting community connecting app. In the future we plan to welcome many ducks, goats/sheep many more children... In our spare time we are mostly swimming in the waterfalls, dancing, hanging out with friends and exploring other worlds...🍄
Our dream for the land is to share it more widely for children and adults to play and enjoy it! And host men/women/family retreats, yoga teacher trainings of around 20 people at a time.
What we really would love in terms of volunteers right now, is people with all types of experience in; permaculture, syntropic agroforestry, aquaculture, gardening, natural building and carpentry. Then there's the genreal things like fire wood processing, cooking for a group experience, cleaning and maybe also a little bit of child care for our little one.

Off-grid living, health and wellness are big passions of ours hence why we chose to live life in this way. We are continuing to learn each and every day ourselves and we love sharing what we are learning whether that is more practical skills, or what we’ve been learning from the land as well as what we have learned and remembered over the years on our spiritual journeys.
Some of our knowledge and experience consists of; Annabelle has a vast knowledge in Vinyasa, Kundalini & Bhakti yoga and meditation, breath work. She also loves to forage from the land and create in the kitchen. We both love learning and harvesting the medicinal plants and mushrooms that grow here.
We take ‘holistic thriving’ very seriously and we love to share what we know to be true from our experience of health, wellness and spirituality.

Arbeit
Right now we are mostly looking for people with experience in;
***Permaculture, syntropic agroforestry, aquaculture, growing a vegetable garden, looking after ducks 🌳
***Natural building, and general carpentry to build some tiny house accommodations 🛠
Also general support but less urgent currently;
Land management; strimming, weeding 🌱
General home support; cleaning, childcare (our 1 year old girl) 👨🍳

Unterkunft
In exchange for your help of 5 hours/day, 5 days/week, we offer food for 3 meals/day. 1 of those meals will be shared all together the other two are independent but your food costs will be provided for according to your dietary requirements and preferences. You will have access to the community kitchen which is well equipped with everything you should need to make your other independent meals.
Depending on availability/season, we do have a beautiful guest house which is spacious with comfy beds. If this is already taken by guests then you will be in the 6 meter diameter canvas teepee. Both have access to the same kitchen and bathrooms with real mattresses.
Toilets are all compost.
We also have a hot shower, pool, and two rivers to choose from.
Cell phone reception is surprisingly good here, and we also have high speed starlink wifi.

We have already had a few volunteers from workaway here as well as friends and friends of friends volunteering and we love to feel the land full of energy and people enjoying themselves here. We so appreciate having the helping hands. Annabelle has volunteered as a workawayer many times before in New Zealand and India, so she knows what it’s like from that side. We really adore our lives here and love sharing it with others. We ask for open, honest and clear communication. A mutual respect of each others energy levels and privacy.
In your spare time you are invited to enjoy the nature, explore the local area where there are markets, many other waterfalls, beautiful hikes and the beach is just 45 mins away. Porto is a 1 hour 15 minute drive away, and we are 3 hours north of Lisbon.
