AS WE ARE A LEGALLY REGISTERED BUSINESS / TOURIST SITE, AND THE TASMANIAN GOVERNMENT HAS FORMALLY ANNOUNCED THAT ALL VISITORS ARE TO LEAVE TASMANIA DUE TO CORONAVIRUS, WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANYONE UNTIL THE SITUATION CHANGES. THANKYOU FOR YOUR INTEREST BUT I WONT BE REPLYING TO ANY MORE MESSAGES UNTIL THE SITUATION HAS CHANGED. PLEASE STAY SAFE DURING THESE TIMES AND HOPEFULLY SOON IT WILL BE OVER.
We have a 15 acre property outside Cygnet. We have llamas, goats, chooks and need help improving the site and running the veggie garden and house gardens. We have a lovely little self contained cabin in the forest. We need help doing basic work on site (painting etc) and sometimes feeding or handling animals. Our farm works on permaculture principles: we collect water, green material, wood, and llama poop and recycle on site for heating, compost etc. The cabin is perfect for an independent couple with a car as we are out of town.
We have a small herd of angora goats (curly hair/ mohair) with babies on site which are super cute but may need bottle feeding right now through to the end of March.
No smoking inside or on the deck, but away from the cabin is ok. The cabin has a log burner, 2 sofas, solar panels, gas camping hob, and next to the cabin we have a cute little bathroom with shower, toilet and sink. We may have wifi in there but this isn't always working so its ideal if you have an Australian mobile phone. There is no TV in the cabin as its all off grid but there is a fridge.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Learn about farm life in Australia, we are in a rural area with an abundance of local wildlife: we see a massive range of native birds on our property, also sometimes quolls, devils and echidna. We also have llamas.... which we can teach you how to work with these amazing animals. We also have a small herd of rare breed coloured angora goats, chickens, and dogs and cats.
Arbeit
There is lots to do so we are flexible on the type of help you can offer, from basic farm work and gardening to building fences, working with the llamas, to cutting bracken, chopping firewood, painting the exterior of the house, renovating the greenhouse, feeding animals, clearing paths. We have lots of varied work so we dont expect anything more than a willingness to give it a try! We can be flexible about using the place as a base and travelling around Tassie as long as we can compromise on some help whilst you are here!

Self contained cabin: upstairs is not full head height but has a proper queen sized bed, carpet etc. Downstairs is a lovely sitting area; 2 sofas including a sofabed, log burner, cute little kitchen area (no oven, just a gas camping stove). Washing machine available at the main house. You would need a car as there is no bus to the house but the bus stop is about 2km down the hill. You would need to be quite independent and cook for yourselves.

Locally we have great markets, are close to some great tourist attractions, have a very active permaculture group. we are one hour from Hobart, and we are really flexible with the timing of help: so if you are interested in touring tassie in small pieces a few days at a time we can work out a way to stay here as a base and work around some travel time.
