  In the city, time is a predator—always chasing a deadline or a digital notification. Here in the Chocó Andino, time is an ally, not a problem. We live by the rhythm of the sun, the flow of the river, and the seasons of the harvest.
  
  There are no punch-clocks or artificial rushes. We work with intention, focusing on the quality of our repairs and the health of our soil rather than the speed of a schedule. This is a place to decompress from the "systemic hurry" and rediscover what it means to spend a day on tasks that actually matter for your long-term resilience.
  
  About the Project
  Located on a 25-hectare expanse of primary and secondary forest, our farm serves as a sanctuary for those looking to bypass global instability through territorial self-sufficiency. We are building a life that is independent of fragile supply chains, focused on food sovereignty and manual mastery.
  
  The Work & Skills
  Whether we are cultivating yuca and plantains or maintaining the tilapia ponds, the work is grounded in reality. You will help us with:
  
  Manual Autonomy: Learning to repair what breaks using intuition and the tools at hand.
  
  Natural Agriculture: Working with the land without agrochemicals to ensure a clean, permanent food source.
  
  Collaborative Design: Contributing to our vision of a village organized by consensus and traditional social circles.

  We are currently 4 people living in Yumbo Ñan . A Mexican family, two adults, a12-year-old girl and a 18-year-old boy who have lived in Ecuador for 10 years and decided to come and live in a quiet, biodiverse place. And with a good agricultural potential. They have been on the farm for more than 5 years now.
  
  Our goal is to become self-sustaining.
  
  Somos actualmente cuatro personas viviendo en Yumbo Ñan. Una familia de mexicanos, dos adultos, una niña de 12 años y un chico de 18 años decidimos venir a vivir en un lugar tranquilo, biodiverso. Y con un buen potencial agrícola. llevamos ya mas de 5 años en la finca.
  
  Nuestro objetivo es llegar a ser autosustentables.

  Arbeit

  We need people who want to integrate into our way of life, help and collaborate in any task of the farm.
  We are currently starting several jobs so we need people committed to collaborating in the development of these activities.
  We value the processes of exchange of knowledge and/or diverse knowledge: languages, cuisine, crafts, arts, etc.
  On the farm there are children, adolescents and adults who are interested in learning something new every day.
  
  Each volunteer who arrives is important to be willing to collaborate in the kitchen and in productive work. Each volunteer will responsibly assume the daily tasks of FEEDING the animals in the morning and in the afternoon or going for the milk. If you have proposals to integrate them into homeschooling with children, let us know.
  
  Necesitamos personas que deseen integrarse a nuestro modo de vida, ayudar y colaborar en cualquier tarea de la Finca.
  Actualmente estamos empezando varios trabajos así que necesitamos de personas comprometidas en colaborar en el desarrollo de estas actividades.
  Valoramos los procesos de intercambio de conocimiento y/o saberes diversos: idiomas, culinaria, artesanía, artes, etc.
  En la finca hay niños, adolescentes y adultos que estamos interesados en aprender algo nuevo cada día.
  Cada voluntario que llegue presenta una propuesta de talleres que se puedan llevar a cabo en la finca, de acuerdo a sus conocimientos, habilidades, intereses y, pensando en los niños y adolescentes que viven acá especialmente.
  Es importante estar dispuestos a colaborar en la cocina y en los trabajos productivos.
  Cada voluntario asumirá responsablemente Las labores cotidianas de ALIMENTAR a los animales por la mañana y por la tarde o de ir por la leche.

  Unterkunft

  We have several cabins for volunteers with rooms, living area and private bathrooms, do not have electricity (if you buy wire you can have it) or Internet, just like the other cabins where we live.
  We have a communal dining room with Internet access (free Wi-Fi) and electricity.
  Moments of recreation and rest are important to us. We have a pool pond where we can relax, play and enjoy quietly.
  
  Disponemos varias cabañas para voluntarios con habitaciónes, área de estar baños privados, no tiene luz eléctrica (Se puede poner si compras tu el cable), ni Internet, al igual que las demás cabañas donde vivimos.
  Contamos con un comedor comunal con acceso a Internet (wifi libre) y luz eléctrica.
  
  Los momentos de recreación y descanso son importantes para nosotros. Tenemos un estanque piscina donde podemos relajarnos, jugar y disfrutar tranquilamente.

  The farm is located in a valley known as Manduriacos, in a subtropical humid forest next or part of the Intag Valley. We are 148 Kms. away from Quito in one of the most biodiverse areas of the country, this area is the transition area between the Sierra region and the Ecuadorian Coast. We live in a very rudimentary way....do not dream of finding comfort here....the environment, nor does our option intend that. That is why we do not have electricity in the volunteer areas, nor in the cabins where we live, only in the communal areas. Mosquitoes and mosquitoes are always present...we have already gotten used to living with them...there are many animals around the farm, especially snakes and toads. We also have 4 dogs and 2 cats. We are omnivores and our diet is adjusted to what we have available. The meat we consume is obtained from our own chickens, ducks or ... they are our food. We live simply and simply in a cloud forest, the prevailing weather almost all the time is rain. We don't have working hours, it all depends on the weather. There are days that we can work five hours in the field and others only two. But at home there are always things to do in the kitchen or with the children. That is why we are always busy and it is time for the workshops that each volunteer offers. If you like to go out, walk in the city and you are used to a certain comfort... do not opt ​​for our farm. Almost all of our time is dedicated to the land, the kitchen and community work. Only if you are open to it will you feel comfortable here, because being isolated is the only option. Among us there are different personalities, none with religious or political affiliations, we respect the way of thinking of each one, we really like to talk, debate, analyze the reason for things... If you are passionate about debate, we do it here daily!
  
  La finca está ubicada en un valle conocido como Manduriacos, en un bosque húmedo subtropical. Estamos a tres horas de Quito en una de las áreas más biodiversas del país, esta área es el área de transición entre la región de la Sierra y la Costa ecuatoriana.
  Nosotros vivimos de forma muy rudimentaria....no sueñes en encontrar aqui la comodidad....el entorno, ni nuestra opcion pretende eso. Por eso no tenemos luz eléctrica en las áreas de voluntarios, tampoco en las cabañas donde vivimos, solo en las áreas comunales. Los mosquitos y zancudos siempre estan presentes...ya nos hemos acostumbrado a convivir con ellos...hay muchos animales alrededor de la finca culebras y sapos especialmente. Ademas tenemos 12 perros y 2 gatos.
  Somos carnivoros y nuestra alimentación se ajusta a lo que tenemos disponible. La carne que consumimos la obtenemos de nuestras propias gallinas, patos o chanchos...son nuestro alimento. Vivimos de forma simple y sencilla en un bosque nublado, el clima que prevalece casi todo el tiempo es la lluvia.
  No tenemos horarios de trabajo, todo depende del clima. Hay días que podemos trabajar cinco horas en el campo y otros solo dos. Pero en casa siempre hay cosas que hacer en cocina o con los niños. Por eso siempre estamos ocupados y es el momento de los talleres que cada voluntario ofrezca.
  Si te gusta salir, pasear en la ciudad y estas acostumbrado a cierta comodidad...no optes por nuestra finca. Casi todo nuestro tiempo lo dedicamos a la tierra, la cocina y labores comunitarias. Solo si estas abierto a ello te sentiras a gusto aca, pues al estar aislados es la unica opción.
  Entre nosotros hay distintas personalidades ninguna con filiaciones religiosas, ni politicas, respetamos la forma de pensar de cada uno, nos gusta mucho conversar, debatir, analizar el porqué de las cosas... Si te apasiona el debate aquí lo hacemos a diario!
