  Homesteading, fruit & veg growing, self sufficiency.
  
  I am looking for someone interested in growing food and learning about self sufficiency in a temperate climate...planting fruit trees and a vegetable garden. I have only been doing this a few years so am always willing to learn from volunteers as well as impart some knowledge to people completly new to this.
  
  The food grown here is for people on the homestay, it is not sold to markets or done on a commercial basis. It's just a hobby really and to be more connected with one's food.
  
  The property is in the so called sunny south East of Ireland and overlooks the sea. The local town Tramore has cafes, pubs, grocery stores and public transport readily available. It also has the famous metal man statue.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  Help will typically involve sowing drills of different vegetables or trays of seedlings, prepping vegetable beds, planting out young plants, caring for the plants until maturity. You can learn about how to protect & care for plants in a cold climate here and the use of greenhouses & transplanting to overcome the elements of the Irish weather. Depending on the time of year, you may also get to harvest & eat some homegrown produce.

  Arbeit

  Any knowledge in gardening & growing food is a bonus but I am happy to take on people with no experience and teach them what I know about Horticulture.
  
  There is no pressure here to get XYZ done, if things grow & produce lots of food it's just an added bonus. If not, both you & I may learn from our mistakes.

  There will be a constant store of fresh fruit & veg, oats/rice/seeds & other dried foods available such that you can have 3 meals a day.
