Teachers are also great human beings and I have shared and learned a lot from them.
Olawa is a small and very calm town but it has the advantage of having Wroclaw nearby if you want to do more activities.

For me this experience was genuinely a cultural work exchange; since Im from Peru I learn a lot from this experience because offers me a different point of view of people from this part of the world.
Robin and Ewa have a lot of knowledge and experience about topics like language and educative methods and they are open to share this knowledge.

There are three components of any workaway teaching position — the school, the housing and the town. This place scores well on all three.
We spent five weeks teaching English here in the spring of 2023, a beautiful time in southwest Poland, with fragrant lilacs in bloom. Teaching took place onsite at the school building and to a lesser extent
… read more offsite at a few public schools and regional businesses.
The average size of students who attended classes at the schools was 4-5 students. Attendance at businesses was generally 2-3 students per class. The bulk of teaching at the school building involved students ranging from 6-15 years old. There were also private and semi-private lessons for adults, which was a window on the day to day life of people in Poland.
The school makes extensive use of online resources, which was a bit challenging for us but also beneficial to learn. The administrative and co-teachers were very helpful and we enjoyed the international ambiance, with teachers from a variety of countries.
The apartment is a fourth floor walkup in a relatively new, well-constructed building. It’s about a twenty minute walk to school. It has a furnished kitchen with a range, an oven and a refrigerator. It also has a washing machine and showers with a good supply of hot water. There are several supermarkets within a 15 minute walk, including one located two minutes from the apartment building. There is some noise at night, as the building is near an active two-lane road, but any sleeping issue can be rectified with ear plugs.
Oława has a relaxed pace of life Traffic is reasonable. Most places are within walking distance. The city has a lovely park, adjacent to which is a forest with a network of walking trails. Oława also has a first class indoor/outdoor swimming facility. We never had a problem getting our own swimming lane in the mornings. For those who miss the dynamism of a larger city, as did my wife, the historic university city of Wrocław is nearby and can be easily accessed by bus or train.

Ayudar en las tareas de la casa, leer algun libro en español con Daniel, jugar o en algunos casos buscarlo al cole, son de las tareas que haras a diario, mas sin embargo son padres muy flexibles y si no te necesitan te lo diran anticipadamente ,para que te puedas organizar, en general el trabajo fue facil. Tambien tendras la oportunidad de aprender o practicar polaco, english o español que es algo que aun valoro. Asi que siempre recomendare a esta hermosa familia, porque con su atencion, respeto y fluidez ,te haran sentier en casa.
Dicen que el amor entra por la cocina y Eva si que sabe hacerse querer!

I was at there for only 3 weeks although I wanted to stay longer before heading back to Canada. The work was quite challenging at the beginning but very enjoyable at the end. I was a little bit nervous and stressed when I first arrived, but thanks to Robin and Ewa, who were very patient to me the entire time, I was back on my feet in the second week after some observation and training. It was such an unforgettable journey with a lot of hands-on teaching experience! I got to teach my own classes, I took part of the English summer camp, and a few times I went to teach at a public school in Olawa. I was only at Eldorado language centre for just under a week during the kids summer activity camp, so I can only comment on this experience. It was a fun week with really nice kids who were not difficult. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. The flat was comfortable, modern, large and had all the amenities one needs (although the traffic outside is a bit noisy if you have any windows open).
The town is small and if you want entertainment and events in your free time then you're better taking the 20 minute train ride into Wroclaw city nearby.

The accommodation was a beautiful house next to the school and it was complete, you have everything you need there. The school is located in Olawa. It's a small town but it's quiet and it's a good place to live. You can go to the swimming pool or have a walk through the parks. You can also try Polish food as there are a lot of places to eat. And you can also visit Wroclaw. It's a beautiful city that you must visit. It's well communicated by train and bus (and very cheap transport).
This was a great experience for me in which I have learned a lot of things. Robin and Ewa always care about you and make you feel like home. It was my first time in Workaway and I am very thankful because they have brought everything I needed and they have helped me a lot. I felt part of their family.

There is a mixture of nationalities working at the school - which is awesome - and makes for some interesting conversations, as well as cultural (and culinary) exchanges! You will have plenty of opportunities to practice your English, Spanish or Polish, so it’s a perfect environment for language learners. The town of Oława is a very quiet and peaceful place to live. Accommodation is within proximity of the school, supermarket, bus station and restaurants, and there is also a couple of gyms nearby, a swimming pool and a beautiful park where the river runs through, which will help to keep you occupied in the mornings.
