  My name is Joko and I live in a beautiful area in the North of Sumatra Indonesia. I live close to Gunung Leuser National park (Bukit Lawang). My house is situated on the other part of the jungle.
  
  It is in the middle of the nature, wild nature surrounded by wild orangutans, monkeys and all the creatures which belong to the nature. Behind my house is a big cave, where you can spend half of a day just exploring it.
  
  In front of my house the clean river passes by, in which you can swim. And all around you have a beautiful view of the nature. We don't have electricity, we make a fire and cook on fire, we fish and cook vegetables which we find in the jungle and we have a little garden. I have a brother that helps me around and friends.
  
  Its a relaxed perfect nature get away from a crowded stressed life . It gives you time to think, to take in and just enjoy the moments, fresh air, animals and nature. It is a beautiful place and I would like to keep it like that. That is why I'm looking for some help from people who care about the nature and environment.
  
  I want to make this place an Eco friendly educational habitat in the future. We have now one Big House (which needs to be finished), and I'm planning to create more spaces for herbal plantation and make the area suitable for the animals which are living there (orangutan, monkeys, birds, fish, ...) I am building only with wood and other natural material that surround me
  And my other goal -which is very important- is to teach the natives how to keep the river clean, respect the animals and to not destroy the nature. To keep their awareness about the ecology.

  Was ist das?

  Arbeit

  I need someone who could help me with building the house. The base of the house is already done , but there are still things to be finished. You would be helping me collecting the wood from the river, fixing the roof and all the small things that comes on the way. Overall manual work is need to be done... Putting sings on the land (like no litter, no using motorbikes, ect...) And there is always good if there is at least one person always around the house, otherwise the monkeys eat, take, steal everything ;)

  Unterkunft

  You would be staying in the house with me and my brother. Sleeping area is not luxury but its natural, dry and clean. But its up to you, you can also sleep by the fire outside, or anywhere you want, its a lot of space..u can also camp.
  In the morning we usually eat breakfast and after that we start working. Then its lunch in the afternoon and dinner by the fire.
  There is no electricity so after 6pm we the light with fire, candles and lamps.
  For the food, we pick the vegetables and fruits that surrounds us. We cook for you and provide food.
  But if u want something special to eat or other thing,there is a food market in the village where we go one time per week and we buy things we need (other food, ect.)
  Free donations are welcome and they will be used for common needs.

  Was noch ...

  Because we live in the jungle, you can explore the jungle and the nature around. You can do some short trekking, fishing, caving. And just by walking around you will see orangutans and other beautiful wild life, like monkeys, butterfly, birds,.. . There is a signal for the phone, but no electricity. The nearest village is hour away by walk, but we use motorbikes, which gets us to the village fast, to get food and other supply we need.
  
  The inquiries you send me on workaway page, my girlfriend will answer them as soon as possible, because she has access to the internet more often then me ;)
  
  Maximum length of stay is no more than 2 weeks.
  
  To COME to us you take a bus from Medan to a town called Binjai (1,5h away) and from there you get to another bus that takes you to Bukit Lawang (3h). And from there we pick you up.

  P.S.
  From June 2015 -until February 2016 unfortunately I will stop with my project, because I will not be there. I will not answer mails in that time, but I will keep you up dated, as soon as I know exactly when we start again.
