  Hello!
  We are Aaron, Jai & Agustina, we are a Swiss-Uruguayan family. We are building our project in the Sierras De Rocha, in Uruguay.
  Our goal is to be as self-sufficient as possible. We produce electricity outside the grid and have water from a natural source, as well as a Biodigester to produce gas.
  We have a large garden and greenhouse to take care of, more than 20 different fruit trees and a bunch of animals, such as chickens, gooses, ducks and porks.
  We also have three beautiful cats and a lovely dog that are part of the family .
  We are looking for volunteers passionate about self-sufficient life, who love to work in the field in the different tasks we have, that are enthusiastic and proactive.
  We are looking for friends of nature who want to live the experience of life in the Uruguayan countryside.

  ¡Hola!
  Somos Aaron, Jai y Agustina, somos una familia suizo-uruguaya. Estamos construyendo nuestro proyecto en las Sierras De Rocha, en Uruguay.
  Nuestro objetivo es ser lo más autosuficiente posible. Producimos la electricidad fuera de la red y tenemos agua de una fuente natural, asi como un Biodigestor para producir gas.
  Tenemos un gran jardín e invernadero para cuidar, más de 20 árboles frutales diferentes y varios animales a cuidar, entre ellos gallinas, ganzos, patos y chanchos.
  También tenemos tres hermosos gatos y una hermosa perra que son parte de la familia .
  Estamos buscando voluntarios apasionados por la vida autosuficiente, que amen trabajar en el campo en las diferentes labores que tenemos, que sean entusiastas y proactivos.
  Buscamos amigos de la naturaleza que quieran vivir la experiencia de la vida en el campo Uruguayo.

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  We like to enjoy the cultural exchange, especially the food and the music. From time to time we make trips around the Sierras and the beach. In summer there´s a market in the neighborhood every week, that you can go to enjoy good music and food also.
  Jai speaks German, French and Spanish and I speak Spanish and English, and I`m trying to learn French. So we can practice one of these languages together anytime.

  Nos gusta disfrutar del intercambio cultural, especialmente en la comida y la música. De vez en cuando hacemos excursiones por las Sierras y la playa. En verano hay un mercado en el barrio una vez por semana, a la que también solemos ir, es un momento de encuentro con los vecinos donde se disfruta de buena música y rica comida.
  Jai habla alemán, francés y español y yo hablo español e inglés, y estoy tratando de aprender francés. Entonces podemos practicar uno de estos idiomas juntos en cualquier momento.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for people who want to be part of the project at the time we share the coexistence.
  
  We live in a very changing climate, so we seek to adapt to it as much as possible.
  In Summer we watering the greenhouse and the garden every day, and the trees ones per week.
  We cut the grass and clean the paths frecuently, so we can colect the straw that we use in the garden after.
  Some time to time we fertilize the garden with natural fertilizers that we prepare with a Biodigestor and animal dung.
  Weeding, sowing and planting are frequent activities for us, as is the general maintenance of the house.
  
  It is very important to mention that we are looking for careful people, attentive to the recommendations to work. That they collaborate in the care of the tools, as well as with the tasks of cleaning and maintenance of the house and all the spaces used, since we consider that it is everyone's task.
  
  We expect someone who love Nature and animals (and Cats in particulary =D ), and wants to help in the garden activitys and the building proyects that we have.
  
  At this moment we are starting the works to make a workshop, a garage and a family house, so we are especially interested in Carpenters, since cutting, sanding and painting is a frequent task!
  
  So if you have any experience in eco-construction or carpentry in particular, you are very welcome!!
  
  But is not excluyent, of course! the Motivation is for us the most important.

  Buscamos personas que nos quieran Ser Parte del Proyecto en el tiempo que compartamos la convivencia.
  
  Vivimos en un clima muy cambiante, por lo que nosotros buscamos adaptarnos a él lo mas posible.
  En verano regamos el invernadero y el jardín todos los días, y los árboles una vez por semana.
  Cortamos la hierba y limpiamos los caminos con frecuencia, para colectar la paja que utilizamos en el jardin.
  De vez en cuando fertilizamos con fertilizantes naturales que preparamos con el Biodigestor y bosta de animales.
  Desherbar, sembrar y plantar son actividades frecuentes para nosotros, lo mismo que el mantenimiento general de la casa.
  
  Nos es muy importante mencionar que buscamos personas cuidadosas, atentas a las recomendaciones para trabajar. Que colaboren en el cuidado de las herramientas, asi como con las tareas de limpieza y mantenimiento de la casa y todos los espacios utilizados, ya que consideramos que es tarea de todos.
  
  Esperamos a alguien que ame la naturaleza y los animales (Los gatos en particular = D), y quiera ayudar en las actividades del jardín y los proyectos de construcción que tenemos.
  
  En este momento estamos iniciando las obras para hacer un taller, un garaje y una casita familiar, por lo que estamos especialmente interesados en Carpinteros y apasinados por el Trabajo con la Madera, ya que cortar, lijar y pintar es una tarea frecuente!
  Si tienes alguna experiencia en eco-construcción o carpintería en particular, nos vendría muy bien!
  
  ¡Pero no es excluyente, por supuesto! La Motivación es para nosotros realmente lo más importante! =)

  Unterkunft

  You will live in a tend prepare for 2 people with one mattress and blankets. We have a bathroom with warm water and dry toilet and a kitchen that we share, so we expect the maintenance be among all.

  Ofrecemos una tienda preparada para 2 personas con un colchón y mantas. Tenemos un baño con agua caliente e inodoro seco y una cocina que compartimos, por lo que procuramos que el mantenimiento sea entre todos.

  Was noch ...

  In our land we have a lake to bathe and cool off in the summer, and a beautiful viewpoint to the Sierras to enjoy.
  Rocha is the closest city we have, is about 25 km away. There are no buses to come or go from it, but we usually go 1 to 2 times a week and in turn we have a network of neighbors with whom we share the trips.
  In the Sierras there are tourist (private) places to visit, such as the Tahona de las Sierras and The Dome of the Communal Land, built by the famous German architect Gernot Minke considered the father of Bioconstruction. Although these places are private, their admission is free, you just have to warn that one is going to visit them.
  We also can always organize an excursion to the beach, where we have another small proyect ongoing.

  En nuestra tierra tenemos un gran Tajamar para bañarnos y refrescarnos en verano, y un hermoso mirador para disfrutar de las Sierras.
  Rocha es la ciudad más cercana que tenemos, está a unos 25 km. No hay autobuses para ir o venir, pero generalmente vamos de 1 a 2 veces por semana y, a su vez, tenemos una red de vecinos con quienes compartimos los viajes.
  En las Sierras hay lugares turísticos (privados) para visitar, como la Tahona de las Sierras y La Cúpula de la Tierra Comunal, construida por el famoso arquitecto alemán Gernot Minke considerado el padre de la bioconstrucción. Aunque estos lugares son privados, su entrada es gratuita, solo tiene que advertir que uno los visitará y no hay problema.
  También siempre podemos organizar una excursión a la playa, donde tenemos otro pequeño proyecto en curso...
