They have built a deep community of people who genuinely care about the vision and I feel so so lucky to be apart of it. You will have so much free time to explore the island if you prefer - I just wanted to stay around the farm most of the time.
We mostly did things together even after work, cooking meals together that we harvest allll from the farm, walking the trails on the mountain, driving to the beaches, farmers market, etc. but if you prefer to explore solo that's also encouraged(: There wasn't a day that wasn't filled with laughter and dancing.
I highly recommend volunteering here if you are looking for somewhere to grow, sow, and be apart of something so beautiful and unique for years and years to come. I can't wait to be back here and feel so grateful to have met such incredible people.

My first WorkAway experience and it has been beyond amazing, from family style dinners with everyone at 'the dog house' to group kickball at the park and beach excursions.

… read more an issue it is quick to be addressed. The groceries provided are plentiful, fair, and consistent, but also so much fresh produce from the garden and trees on property.
The work is even fun! I have learned so much working with Hans that would really make future resumes outshine. Everyone is always working together to make huge improvements, even weeding feels so accomplishing when you take a step back and see how much progress you've achieved. We all work so hard together and really make it worth it.

The property is super beautiful and you can tell that it has been lovingly looked after. It has a great view over the whole island and lots of cozy corners to relax in. We felt at home from the very first second.

… read more from cooking utensils to food, blankets and shower stuff, everything you need to feel comfortable is available. We are both vegetarians and we were always taken into consideration when shopping and it was no problem to express individual wishes.
The work was customized and even though many of the tasks were repetitive, there was enough variety that it never got boring. The working hours were very flexible, so it was no problem if you wanted to work more or less on one day. The work was well organized, you always knew what you had to do and there was always someone there if you had a question or didn't understand something.
But what makes this place special in our opinion are the super nice people. Hans is very hospitable, a great person and immediately makes you feel welcome. Greg and his family and Sumi are also super warm and friendly people who make you feel very welcome and integrated. We made great new friends with the other volunteers, who really made our time at this place something special. Overall, there is a great atmosphere and an exuberant mood, there is always something to laugh about, there is great communication and even if it is a little more difficult to get down to the valley without a car, it never gets boring.

The accommodations and food supply were fairly luxurious compared to other workaways I've done as well. … read more respected by everyone on it. Hans and Angelina are some of the most rad humans I've had the pleasure of meeting, and they immediately made me feel like family. I had no idea what I was walking into when I applied, but after being picked up at the airport by a car full of WWOOFers blasting the Grease soundtrack and receiving more hugs than I could count, I knew I was in the right place.
The living quarters were clean, everything we needed was provided, and our crew of WWOOFers and WorkAwayers were proactive about maintaining the space.
The daily work was accurate to the profile, and we usually had various options for what sort of work we wanted to do. Lots of weeding, watering, trail clearing, gardening, and animal care, all of which were very enjoyable! (tending to the cuddly sheep was my favourite daily task.)
Outside of the 25 hr work week, you can expect group hang sessions, dance parties and hammock lounging, as well as any off-site adventures you wish to go on via the nearby bus route.
I can't say enough good things about this homestead and the wonderful people on it. I highly reccomend this place to both first-timers and seasoned WorkAwayers.
