I stayed with Jens and Martin for approximately a month, It was as Jens would say, wonderful.
I enjoyed mine and Martin's conversations, full of the "useless" facts we'd know but would come in handy somehow, he's a very good cook and our discussing recipes was always helpful and fun, he's a very big film buff and I got to see some nice
… read more masterpieces that I would have never saw on my own, he's very hospitable and organized which I admire so much.
Jens is the best storyteller in Germany by far, I'd have to say I was never bored, its so entertaining and makes me want to create more memories in my life. perhaps not a full time cook but he's quite the baker, introducing me to German gastronomy and making me a part of it. He has such a beautiful garden which he's taken care of for years.
He's kind, helpful and funny. (also gives nice hugs)
They were both very helpful when there's something I needed, and they went out of their ways to make sure I got everything I need, especially when I had to leave and they spent hours trying to help me. I appreciate that so much.
Marcel is a great kid, a very good chess and cards player (I had my luck and won at cards but never at chess), he's likes quiet time which I also relate to, so it was easier to hang out and spend time together, he can be quite crazy -in a good way- funny and has a nice taste in music.
The village they live in is so beautiful, full of nature, rivers and great hikes in the forest.
Everyday at the house was a new day, a new adventure, everyone made an effort to make me feel at home and bring me the best German experience.
The work was good and accurately described. I worked with Jens on the garden, made food for the family when needed and my part of house cleaning.
Im glad I was apart of the family, and I will definitely be coming back as our time got cut short.
I recommend this workaway for anyone in the area that needs a nice change.
