Kathrin stayed with us for 1 week and managed to clean up our overgrown veggie garden despite the inclement weather thrown at us! Her English is excellent which made communication very easy. She was clean and tidy around the house and very tolerant of our big puppy!

Emily and Olivia spent 1 week with us and I was an absolute pleasure! They were fun, willing and very capable! The main jobs were weeding and prepping vegetable garden and replacing about 30 pavers on a pathway! They were very easy to get on with and fitted in well with our routine. Would definitely recommend Emily and Olivia to future hosts.

We spent a week at Lyn and Verns place and had a lovely stay. Our jobs mostly involved taking down damaged fences and clearing fallen branches. Lyn is a great cook and we loved her amazing veggie lasagne! We also enjoyed cooking for Vern when Lyn was away (particularly choosing which desert to make!). Lyn and Vern were great hosts - they gave us loads of tips for beautiful places to visit, let us paddle on their kayaks and taught us about their fruit trees and different types of bamboo. We had a great time when Vern took us to see a band play in the local tavern.

… read more property is truely amazing and very well maintained. In the house we had our own big room with two beds and our own bathroom, which was great. In their organic garden Lyn is growing different kinds of fruits and vegetables, which she is also serving during lunch and dinner time. Part of our really hard work (hehe) was to remove trees, weeds and to level their footpath in the veggie garden. During the work Lyn was taking care of us and serving us "morning tea", which we enjoyed very much. After work we also jumped into their pool, which is next to their house and had (sometimes) a glass of water ^^. Lyn and Vern were very open minded people showing us the local area and introducing us to their friends during a very funny BBQ evening, so that we could feel like home from the very beginning! Durning our freetime they gave us some suggestions, what we should visit in the area and on our trip through Australia.
In general we enjoyed our stay very much and we would come back anytime!

Theresa and Julia are 2 lovely young ladies who stayed with us for a week. They did lots of weeding, digging, mowing mulching in my veggie garden. They helped net fruit trees that flying foxes had been attacking! They fell in love with our Kelpie dog and regularly exercised him. They removed rusty barbed wire from a fence and did some pruning!

They spoke English very well but we were a little disappointed that sometimes at dinner they would talk to each other in German (which we don't understand) without translating for us. We did think this was a little naive and rude. But saying that, I would still recommend them to future hosts as they are young and inexperienced in life but willing to learn and try new things. They will benefit greatly from traveling in Australia and hopefully the experience will enrich their lives! They will always be welcome back here and we wish them all the best in their travels.

We went to see the flooding ocean in a rainy day and it was the best experience of feeling the greatness of nature.We went to see the Manning River coming into the ocean where thousands of people witnessed the famouse whale Willy coming back to ocean home in 1994.They are both very knowledgable and willing to share what they know with me.We saw lots of Australian birds there as well as in their homeland.Just one week we had lots of fun together.They took me to friends gothering and we did rock climbing to the summit of a mountain which is said only suitable for experienced climbers.But for me it was the first time to climb and I made it with the help of them(they are definely experienced climbers).The other day I had the honor to enjoy a private concert performed by their band(Did I tell you that they are both artists not only in music but also in paiting and maybe other aspects that I don't know).They are also black-belt and I got the chance to attend their Taekwondoo class.As for the work, I don't think it can be called work.For me, it was part of fun and part of learning.I did mulching, weeding, picking up beautiful fruits, collecting manure and making Chinese dumplings as well as teaching Mandarin.They appreciated what I did and I really felt at home from the first second I met them.So many thanks to you, Lyn , Vern , and the good boy Dex.Wish you enjoy your trip in China.I will visit you back someday.
