Beschreibung
We are a couple in our fifties and live in the small and quiet Berzi near Bajardo in the hinterland of Sanremo in western Liguria. We grow vegetables and fruits and have some olive trees from which we produce high quality organic olive oil. We like the idea of permaculture and we are still in the learning phase. During the year we need help with the maintenance of the vegetable garden and projects around our house.
We love what we do and enjoy sharing our knowledge with volunteers who are interested in living ecologically and a sustainable lifestyle. We are both vegetarians.
Originally we are from the south of Germany. We are skilled locksmiths and carpenters and then both ran an architectural firm together for 20 years. Our main focus was renovation of old buildings and preservation of historical monuments. Both of us are passionate about building biology. 5 years ago we moved from Germany to Liguria.
We build many things ourselves, restore furniture, repair tools, we sew, make preserves and grow a lot of our own food. We grow many herbs and wild plants for health and for cooking.
We will provide breakfast.
Lunch and dinner we cook and eat together. -

The village offers authentic Italian life, in summer there are various cultural events. We are not a typical tourist place.
In our suburb there are no cafes, no stores and no other kind of entertainment - we offer a quiet life surrounded by nature. Bajardo is a 40 minute walk away and has several bars, restaurants and a small grocery store. The bus goes from there to Sanremo four times a day. -
Arbeit
We are looking for skillful helpers who are open to try new things or bring in their own skills.
There is something for everyone to do here: gardening, trimming trees, building fences, repairs at our house, woodworking ....
We plan to build a greenhouse (3x4m), so someone who can do that is welcome.
We are happy to show you a part of our sustainable lifestyle.... -

In the free time you can hike to the nearby village of Bajardo or take the bus to the seashore. Besides, there are many well-marked hiking trails directly from the village.

I spent two weeks with them and I had the chance to enjoy the beauty and the calm of their place. Work was overall easy and they were very relaxed.

we worked in their Garden, with beautiful views of the surrounding area. We gave them input in producing Bio Char, with their cuttings from trees, and then putting it into the compost and Garden.
