  Beschreibung

  We are Tine & René - from Belgium & Ecuador - and we live in Costa Rica. We are now the owners of 4 vacation rentals and a camping site near the beach. We have backgrounds in literature, fine arts and landscaping. Our 3 grown up children currently live in Belgium.
  
  We speak Dutch and Spanish amongst each other, but one of us also speaks English and French. And we both wouldn't mind learning another language, on the contrary! We are interested in art, nature, travel and meeting new people. We have a very decent library with especially Dutch, English and Spanish books, and good wifi.
  
  Our house and business is located at 1,5 km from the beach, in a tropical garden with hummingbirds, toucans, sloths and an occasional howler monkey or snake. Our camping site is some 6km away, at 50m from the beach. Apart from us two, our family consists of Angie, the housekeeper, and 1 Rottweiler, 2 Great Danes and 2 cats, so being pet friendly is absolutely necessary!

  We are a mixed family, so we embrace cultural differences :-)
  You could learn some Dutch or Spanish from us, Latin-American cooking, and a variety of things about Latin American culture, hospitality, tropical plants and animals.

  Arbeit

  We are looking for help in and around our house and vacation rentals and on our camping site. We occasionally need someone to supervise the properties when we are gone for a couple of days. Working schedules are subject to changes and depend on the season.
  We have 1 Rottweiler and 2 Great Danes, so experience with BIG dogs is really necessary!

  Unterkunft

  We offer 2 types of accommodation:
  - A separate room on the property, with its own bathroom. The room is next to the laundry space and work place, and has 2 single beds, a closet, views of the garden, standing fan and wifi. The bathroom has a sink, toilet and a shower (only cold water). We have all open houses and no air conditioning. This means that the rooms are not isolated, and you can hear jungle sounds and possibly some noise from the laundry room and the road at certain hours.
  - At the camping site, we offer sleeping accommodations in a room or small caravan (depending on availability) and huge outdoor space. You have access to the site's toilets and showers (cold water) and restaurant's kitchen for cooking, and there is fibre optic internet.
  
  Volunteers are welcome to spend time at our house too. Our rainforest garden (2 hectares, shared with the vacation rentals) leads to the river. The camping site is 3,000 square meters and just 50m from the sea and one of the most beautiful beaches on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.
  Both our place and the camping site are NOT bug free, so please be aware of that...

  In your free time, you can explore the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, enjoy the most beautiful beaches this country has to offer, snorkel, learn to surf, do yoga, go hiking, visit an animal rescue or take some dancing lessons... We do not offer transportation, so you might have to rent a bike.
  Since we work in hospitality and because Costa Rica has limited daylight hours (5am till 6pm), we raise around 6.30am and are mostly off to bed around 10pm.
