Communication before the arrival date set was excellent. After that it fell apart. Did not arrive when expected and was days late in telling me he had got another job. Shame, because he appears to be enthusiastic and amenable, but turned out not so.

Richard was an excellent Workawayer. He did everything we asked and learnt quickly how to use all the electrical tools that we have for gardening. We have a large mower and he got the hang of that quickly. About the only piece of equipment that he did not use was the Caterpillar - which takes weeks to master! His gardening skills were good and he

He left his accommodation clean and tidy and was very grateful for the touches of 'home' (UK) I provided in the food department. The Yorkshire Puddings were gratefully received!
He loves cricket and so do we, so evenings were spent watching whatever cricket was available.
We enjoyed talking to him about many things and he loved Bob the cat, who sometimes visited him in his accommodation. The wild life intrigued him on the property and he took a lot of photos of everything, including my cooking!
Altogether it was a great visit. Thank you Richard and good luck with the rest of your stays in Tasmania. My best wishes to your mother. All the best, Patricia
Wonderful workaway experience that went beyond expectations, offering a chance to learn new gardening skills whilst looking out over a breathtaking view, with delicious meals (and cakes!) provided daily.
Patricia was kind enough to come and collect me from central Hobart, and then I immediately felt at home upon arrival at their beautiful, cosy
… read more cottage in peaceful Woodbridge. My room was extremely clean and comfortable, and for two weeks, I was treated to an array of meals that were both healthy and creative. Patricia also took note of my home favourites, duly stocking up on baked beans and peanut butter, in addition to serving up Yorkshire puddings...twice!
Richard, apart from having a fantastic name, was very clear in his instructions when working in the garden, usually showing a demonstration of how to use a piece of machinery (hedge trimmer, lawn mower, brush cutter, etc.) then trusting me to get on with my work independently. We then bonded each evening by watching and critiquing the cricket as I sipped on their recommended drink of choice, namely a sumptuous pink grapefruit soda. I also very much appreciated the outing to MONA and the farmers' market, plus the cappuccinos!
Potential workawayers shouldn't hesitate to contact Patricia and Richard when they are down in Tasmania. They are friendly and sociable hosts who love a chat, and have lived varied and interesting lives so far, so they are full of tales! They will also give you plenty of space when it is time for a recharge, and there is no better way to refresh than by looking out at the panoramic view from their idyllic Hill House.

Sonny and Serah were really great Workawayers and we hope to have them back again before they leave Australia. We had great times with them and I learnt how to make Korean food, for which I am eternally grateful. In return they learnt some of my cooking skills. They were a great help with the garden and fitted into our household perfectly.

Well - if I could give Benjamin 6 stars, I would!
A great person and so willing to help. His skills with machinery are really good and he is a neat worker. Did not need supervision and looked for jobs to do. Shame we did not have him for a month, or longer!
He was keen to help in the kitchen and I showed him how to make the homemade water biscuits

He seemed to enjoy every meal with gusto and I was very happy to have a person to help with the washing up!
Nothing was a problem - such a joy!

Wonderful world at Patricia and Richard home. I stayed 2 weeks I helped in the garden and a little bit in the kitchen. I was very lucky to have an amazing guest room only for me with view sky every night. the cook from Patricia was so delicious 😋 with a good glass of wine and a life story. I recommend hugely this place.

What a treasure Valerie is!
She came for one week and stayed for three - and we were sorry to see her leave. I think she would still be here if she didn't have a schedule...
She is a great helper, taking direction perfectly, keen to work and eager to laugh.
We took her to a few places of interest and we had a great time with her. We cooked

Altogether a capable, interesting and engaging young woman. We hope to meet up with her in Europe in the not too distant future.
Well done Valerie!

I spent 3 weeks with Patricia, Richard & little Bobby & enjoyed every second of my stay. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Tassie !! Patricia & Richard were the most amazing caring & warm hearted hosts & I loved spending my time together with them. If working in their beautiful garden, visiting art galleries in Hobart or simply

I would just like to recommend Adrien who stayed with us recently. He is a great worker who would do any work that was asked of him, with a smile. Very pleasant to have around the house and we missed him when he left. A delightful young man, tidy with a great urge to clean and use the vacuum cleaner. He has an enquiring mind and a good sense of

Hi Patricia and Richard,
I had a great time with Patricia and Richard. The accommodation is very good. It is a separate dwelling from their house which is very comfortable. The food was very good too.
The work is interesting and Richard taught me a lot of things in his garden. I worked in the garden and I helped in the house. I recommend this

Ce séjour restera pour moi d'une très bonne chaleur avec un accueille exponentiel, une cuisine très raffiné et logement indépendant d'un très bon confort et cela dans très beau jardin à construire un mur en pierre.
Un très merci à tous les deux
