  Hi there,
  We are a family of 4 living on a 528 Acre farm in the Hawkes Bay. Wee have a 6 Acre garden, a daughter who is 15, & a son who is 17, they are at boarding school in town during the week & come home in the weekend. You will stay with us in our house & enjoy the comforts of our hearty country cooking. We are currently undertaking an environmental planting plan over the whole farm to mitigate climate impact, & control erosion, by growing a nursery of Truffle inoculated Cork trees & planting & maintaining these out on the farm along with Native planting. This is a family owned farm, & no commercial business activities take place on farm.

  Horticultural, Agricultural & environmental experience are provided, by a qualified Horticulturalist / & a Farmer/-
  We are managing an early stage set up of a Cork Forest, you will learn all about how this protects our waterways from pollution, Truffle inoculation techniques, how Carbon forestry works & can compliment or Animal production in an environmentally friendly manor. You will learn pruning techniques, Botanical plant names, Truffle Hunting, Tree management plays a big role currently as we mitigate climate change now & into the future here on farm, we are currently 5 years in on our 250 year plan. We go through Health & Safety requirements * Please note No heavy machinery, Firearms or Chainsaw's are to be handled by any of our Work-away volunteer's for Safety reasons & to abide by Work-away policy. Get practical hands on learning experience dealing with our friendly Wagyu cattle heard, sheep management with tree protectors to protect from livestock, Plant Nursery experience, & gain Horticultural knowledge.
  In recreational time/- You can learn all about country Kiwi lifestyle, there is a river on our boundary with private access for swimming & fishing (gear provided). A beautiful beach nearby, where we can take you & our son can teach you how to surf, there is also Whitewater rafting 5 min away & Horse Trekking 10 min away, or just stay in our large house & read a book soak up the sunshine in your down time. We do regular trips into town mainly Napier if you want to go shopping or just have a look around & can provide transport, also Taupo is 1 hour away.

  Unterkunft

  We have a guest bedroom with a double bed & an additional fold out bed if required, in our large homestead
  
  The Pantry & Fridge is always full, you can help yourself to as much as you want. Three meals provided & more, we are happy to do the cooking & happy if you would like to cook, accepting of restricted diets & happy to meet requirements, we are food lovers!

  There is Truffle Hunting in Winter, Summer swimming, Kayaking, Horse riding, white-water rafting, trout fishing, hunting nearby. Town is 40 minutes away, we often do visits to Napier City.
  There is a beautiful beach within 40 minutes that we frequent quite regularly in the summer months. We border the Mohaka river & have access out the back of our farm for fishing & swimming directly from our property, that can be reached by electric buggy from the house.
  There is a bus stop within 5 minutes for getting here which is located on McVicar Rd just off SHW5 which runs daily,we can pick you up from there or nearest towns Napier 40 minutes or Taupo 1 hour away, if you do not have your own transport to get here. There is also walking tracks nearby.
